KEVIN SCHMIDT April 1, 1966 - December 19, 2018 It is with a heavy heart we announce Kevin's departure from one world to another. The guy whose personality reached many, many, many people from all over. Kevin was predeceased by his parents, George and Gerda (Giesbrecht) Schmidt, and survived by his sister JoDee Schmidt and brother-in-law Shaun Woolgar. Kev'y fought the good fight, and it's from this fight, those around him, grew stronger. He will be missed by many, his Nook/Smitty's family, and his school buddies he remained so close with and cherished. He was a true St. James guy. Above all a big heartfelt shout out and thank you to cousin Judy, for being there through it all. George, over 44 years of friendship, true brother from another mother. We know he's likely playing the guitar with Dad and catching up with Mom. He deserved so much more, and glad the pain has ended. May he Rest in Peace. In keeping with Kevin's wishes, no service will be held. A special mention to the staff at Riverview Health Centre and Grace Hospice, special people that cannot be thanked enough. Donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Condolences may be sent to www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com Kevin will continue to be celebrated. We miss you bro.

  • My sincere condolences on your loss. I pray that memories of happier times will see you through your time of grief! "God gave us memory so we might enjoy roses in winter." Besides being Gerda's first cousin, I am a respected researcher of Mennonite genealogy, and would like to fill in any gaps in your family. By way of context, your mother lived with my mother for several years, and your father was a best friend of my brother Jim. - Posted by: Bob Strong (First cousin, once removed) on: Dec 22, 2018
