Spencer was my older brother and my best friend. We texted almost everyday and visited at least 2-3 times a year (I live in Detroit and he lived in Winnipeg). I asked for his advice on almost everything. We both loved old movies and basically all good movies in general. Every year we would get together for the Academy Awards, along with his wife Sheri and his daughter Jen and pick who we thought would win. We’d have a delicious dinner of steak oscar and enjoy the show with a glass of champagne. You would have thought we were competing for the Oscar...actually the winner would get a few Coffee Crisps, Smarties and some chips. Good times!! Spencer was witty, funny, a great story teller, had a knowledge of trivia like you wouldn’t believe, loved music, and was a fantastic baker and cook. He was incredibly artistic and he gave me many things that he had made throughout the years. I’m crying as I write this because I miss you Spencer, with all my heart and life will never be the same without you. - Posted by: Hilary Bigland (Sister) on: Jan 26, 2019

Sheri, I am so sorry for your loss. I have known "Johnny" forever, we lived on Carlyle Bay and attended school together in the early years and worked at Assiniboia Downs together. He was a fun loving guy, never had a bad word to say about anybody. We shared many good times with Mo and had many good laughs in the beer fridge. Rest in Peace Johnny, until we meet again. - Posted by: Kathy Miller (Friend) on: Dec 31, 2018

So sad to hear of Spencer’s passing. Have not seen Spencer since the 1960s in their family home in Calgary. Both brothers bring back memories of hiking and shooting BB guns in the property surrounding their home! My condolences Sheri, I have raised my glass in the Baja in memory of Spencer! - Posted by: Dave Glendinning (Cousin) on: Dec 29, 2018
