DAVID KRAHN 1950 - 2018 It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of David Krahn on December 21, 2018. He is survived and is missed dearly by his wife of 24 years, Cherie, his two daughters, Donna-Jean (Clancy) and Jacqueline (Shanker), his #1 grandson Riley, Brenden and granddaughter Lizzy. He was loved by his brothers and sisters, Dorothy (Dick), Nettie (John), Trudy (Lawrence), Albert (Susan) and Art (Kathy) and 10 nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Jacob Krahn, his brothers, little David and Larry. David was born in Altona in 1950 and grew up working on the farm before choosing a career in driving at only 16. David drove primarily for Winnipeg Transit for 43 years. He also enjoyed long haul trucking for Reimer and doing bus tours for Grey Goose and Beaver Bus Lines. In his time off David enjoyed helping others. He would never hesitate to help friends and neighbours construct and repair things or complete yard work or just stop to talk. He loved spending time at the neighbourhood community club outside with the girls and neighbourhood children. David was an avid sports watcher who loved his Riders much to his daughter's dismay. Any Winnipeg Bomber/Saskatchewan Rider game was a must to watch. David also liked the Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Maple Leafs (before the Jets came back). He will be remembered watching these games with Riley. David's bond with Christ was never ending, He founded Bus Drivers for Christ and would always share the word with his bible and daily bread devotions or sing a hymn. He never hesitated to pray with others. In later years David drew on this faith and determination to persevere through his battles with MS and heart troubles for over 20 years. A giant thank you to the staff at Deer Lodge where David has spent his last five years. He could always be seen with an infectious smile or laugh to wave and greet you or say goodbye at the doors. He was well known for his awful Rider green, his cowboy hats, but most of all his candies, smiles and friendliness. Even towards the end, when Dad had trouble speaking, he would see you coming and he'd clap and say, "Happy, Happy, Happy". A private service is being held January 2, 2019 by close friends and family. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in memory of David to Deer Lodge Centre, MS Society or an animal charity of your choice.

Eh Bro! Miss coming to see you. Did not like seeing you in all that pain every time we saw you. Miss you but know you are in a much happier place now. Good to know you do not have that pain no more at the place you are now! Say he’ll to Mom & Dad for us. Until we meet again! 😇🥰❤️ - Posted by: Art & Kathy Krahn (Brother & Brother In Law) on: Feb 28, 2019

To Cherie and family, David's sisters, brothers and their families. I was only sixteen when I got to know David (working on his parents farm). As the years went by we became friends and in 1977 he stood up for me at my wedding. I remember he would cheer me up with a saying like(hi brother) nd something very meaningful from God's word. God Bless. Lawrence Toews - Posted by: Lawrence Toews (Friend) on: Jan 03, 2019

My thoughts are with the family. I remember David's smile when he saw my dad's dog (Penny). They had lots of huge and lots of kisses. David seem to be so happy after their little visits always clapped and gave a thumbs up. May you RIP. - Posted by: Lorraine Giesbrecht (Friend from Deer Lodge ) on: Jan 03, 2019

I will miss my daily greeting at work each morning. That smile set my day on the right path every day. He even made an impact on my son when he visited me one day and would always ask me about the man who smiles. He will be missed by so many. - Posted by: Lori (DLC ) on: Jan 02, 2019

Uncle Dave always had a smile on his face and a treat for you, just like his dad. He was the silliest uncle when I was young and the twinkle in his eye was still there when he lost the ability to speak. It broke my heart to see him like that, but he was happy and spreading cheer right til the end... I’m happy you are able to speak again in heaven, say hi to grandma from me ❤️ I will miss you uncle Dave, we had many good times camping and fishing.
