Date of Passing: Dec 29, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRONALD HADDAD May 3, 1933 - December 29, 2018 It is with extreme sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our husband, father, grandfather and friend Ron on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at St. Boniface Hospital. Ron was a friend to so many people, always kind, gentle and only ever had kind things to say about others. He leaves to remember him and to mourn his passing, his loving wife of 62 years and best friend, Eva; children, Kathleen Lenert (Les), Michael (Brenda Kardynal) and Colleen Ewankiw (Greg); grandchildren, who meant the world to him and of whom he was so very proud, Bradley Handziuk (Emma), Emily Handziuk (Ashton Pierre), Jolene Ammoumou (Hamza) and Sam Ewankiw. His greatest joy was when the family was all together, either talking, playing games or just joking around. He was a big fan of the Bombers and the Jets. Ron and Eva had so many wonderful memories travelling, attending parties with friends, eating out, as well as just being together. Thank you to all who were his friends and never forget to tell someone you love them. Our deepest appreciation and thanks go to the first responders as well as the St. Boniface Hospital ACCU staff, who took such good care of him right to the very end, with gentleness and compassion. Ron's life will be celebrated with a Mass at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2019 at the St. Emile Church, 556 St. Anne's Road. A reception in the church hall will follow. For those who wish, contributions in his memory may be sent to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or Diabetes Canada. Ron will indeed be remembered by me and my wife Laura who also passed 8 years ago. Ron was a good neighbour in ShorePoint Village in Gimli. He always greeted us with a smile and had kind things to say. He will be missed by all of us who had the privilege to have known him. Eva know we are thinking of you at this trying time, best wishes Jack Reay and my new partner,Elaine Bolter originally from the Gimli area. - Posted by: Jack Reay (neighbour ) on: Jan 02, 2019

Ron and Eva were long time family friends - going way back to when he and my Dad worked together at Railway & Power! We did not see them often but when we did it was always a fun time. They would come out to the farm for a Sunday to visit and enjoyed many wagon rides to Whiskey Jack for a weiner roast. Ron will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him, he was the gentle giant! Our deepest sympathy to Eva and the rest of the family! Spent some time yesterday (New Year's Day) remembering Ron at our family get together.
