Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • David (Kode as I knew him) was a super friendly guy. I always looked forward to having chats about computers, Neverwinter and just life in general. Was a breathe of fresh air talking with him about many things. I recall one night right after his many computers had a melt down and was forced to Frankenstein 1 just so he could get on and stream a little and talk with his followers. It was that night he explained what had happened. Without hesitating I donated $50 towards his new computer fund. This was the only time that I seen him shed a small tear and get choked up, to where he had to turn his head for a few seconds. Rest in Peace my friend. Until we meet again on the battlefield. - Posted by: Chris Hall (Follower) on: Sep 13, 2019

  • Below is a part of an article on Neverwinter Unblogged. The last paragraph says it all We obviously didn’t know “Kode” in real life, but as an online member of the Neverwinter community he always was a cool dude with a great passion for the game. He played since 2013 and became one of the more recognizable faces on Twitch over the years. Streaming regularly he was able to build a small but loyal audience. In December his online time suddenly declined and on Discord Kode mentioned “health issues”, but that he’ll be “fine”. Unfortunately it’s now terribly evident that he apparently wasn’t able to overcome whatever he was dealing with. Our blog is still on vacation anyway, but to honor KodeReader our social channels will go silent for 24 hours starting with this post. Additionally, we’ll mute the main #lounge channel on our Discord. Kode, you will be missed! Thanks for providing entertainment and content for Neverwinter for so many years. May you be able to play the game the way YOU WANT wherever you are now. One last cheers for you lovingly stubborn Canadian - Posted by: Trevor Bissell (Tizzle Bizzell) (Twitch fan/follower) on: May 31, 2019

  • David was one of our first neighbors to welcome us to the Mellish neighbourhood 35 years ago. We became good friends over the years and he joined us at our cottage many times, fishing, playing crib with Ron & having a rye & coke, and playing guitar. He was a generous soul with a big heart and my kids grew up with him and cared deeply for him. He was always there to lend a ear, give advise, pretty much give you the shirt off his back. There was nothing he wouldn't do for a friend. David: I want to thank you for always being there for my kids Amy & Robby and for your friendship. We will always remember you & smile. Rest in peace Dave. Ron & Eva Tereck - Posted by: Ron and Eva Tereck (Friend ) on: Jan 04, 2019

  • David was one of my best friends. He was always there for me when I needed him. I was blessed to have him in my life for 35 years. I will always remember his calm, patient demeanor. He was extremely intelligent, could fix any computer and I remember him helping me with my math homework in high school. He loved music and self taught himself the guitar. He would sit on his porch and play and sing often. David loved to fish and often took my brother and I to breezy point as kids. I will miss our talks. Those gentle blue eyes. Your great advice. I'm sorry we won't get to have that coffee we talked about so many times, introduce you to my fiance or get to see my wedding. But I know you're with your mother, father and Sheldon. Rest in peace my dear friend. - Posted by: Amy Tereck (Friend) on: Jan 03, 2019

  • David (Kode) was an excellent human being, myself & my husband were followers of his stream. He was all about helping out fellow gamers even though he never classed himself as one he would say "he was just and old school guy" that like to play games. R.I.P my friend, you will be missed. - Posted by: Mrs OzUnBorn (Friend) on: Jan 03, 2019

  • David had a special quality about him where he had no problem telling you exactly how he felt about ANY topic. I'll be listening to Eleanor Rigby tonight just for you, Kode. Miss you already. - Posted by: Nikki (Lady Cynide) (Twitch friend) on: Jan 03, 2019
