Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUCY JANEY MCDONALD Janey McDonald passed away on January 3, 2019, at Victoria, BC. Predeceased by her husband, Robert Lloyd "Frenchy" McDonald; her daughter, Lynn Pipes, and her son-in-law, Bob Ferguson. She is survived by her daughter, Myrna Ferguson (Bruce); her son-in-law, Michael Pipes (Bonnie);, seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Janey was born on March 30, 1913, in Souris, Manitoba. In 1932 she graduated from Teachers College. After teaching in Benito and Swan River she put down roots in Selkirk, Manitoba. Janey later finished her B.A. at the University of Winnipeg and developed her French language skills through continued studies in St. Boniface, Quebec and Paris. Janey enjoyed travel and athletics, playing tennis until she was 88. After retirement, Janey and Frenchy spent many happy winters in Yuma, Arizona. In 1978, they moved from Selkirk to Winnipeg and in 1996 they relocated to Victoria, BC. A celebration of life will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, 3787 Cedar Hill Road, Victoria, BC, on January 21, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Luther Court Society, www.luthercourt.org
