Julian leaves his loving family, his wife, Rita; children, Janet Sigurdson (Jon), Julian and Peter (Margot Alward), and his grandchildren, Bridget (Christopher), Julian, Kenji, Alexandra, Theo and Nicolas. Julian was predeceased by his parents and five siblings. Julian was born on November 30, 1926 in Pruske, Poland to Valerie and Julian Pliszka. He met and married Rita in Manchester, England, in 1952, and they immigrated to Canada in 1953. Throughout his life Julian had a wide variety of jobs, developing a multitude of skills. Julian retired from Winnipeg Hydro in 1989 and enjoyed a long, fulfilling retirement. Julian loved to share his impressive knowledge of European history and world events. He was a devoted family man and an extremely industrious and meticulous craftsman, generously sharing his painting, mechanical and carpentry skills with his family. Julian was also a formidable bridge player! We will celebrate Julian's life on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2400 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre Foundation, Palliative Care Unit or to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
