KUNO MIRWALDT Kuno Mirwaldt, 85, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born in Tilsit, East Prussia to the late, Ernst and Emma Mirwaldt. He left Germany when he was 16 years old and emigrated to Canada. He married Jacqueline Broadley in 1957 and she survives. Kuno played soccer for Winnipeg Army Navy and Airforce Legion and won the Canadian Nationals in 1962. He was also inducted to the Indiana Soccer Hall of Fame in 1993. Kuno sponsored and coached the Fort Wayne Settlers men's soccer team. He started in the plumbing industry in Winnipeg, MB before moving to the United States in 1964. He then worked for Shambaugh & Sons from 1967 to 1986 before starting his own firm, Project Design and Piping, Inc. Kuno and Jacqueline raised four children, Katrina (Mark) Waltmire, Pamela (Thomas) Fields, Curtis (Sofia Rodriguez) Mirwaldt, and Bradley (Valerie) Mirwaldt, and they survive. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kendra (Michael) Ludwig, Samantha (Austin) Harrison, and Chandler Fields; his siblings, Gunter (Doris) Mirwaldt; Hannelore Mahyles, and Irene Dzinkowski; and many loving nieces and nephews. Kuno is preceded in death by his siblings, Gerda Wendorff and Siegfried Mirwaldt. A Celebration of Life service is Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, IN, 46835, with calling one hour prior to the service. Calling Friday, January 18, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne.
