Date of Passing: Jan 12, 2019
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySANDRA DUPONT (nee GALE) April 4, 1947 - January 12, 2019 It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Sandra Dupont, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all, on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the age of 71. She passed peacefully with her family and many relatives and friends by her side. She endured many health problems but became too weak to continue her struggles. Sandy was born in Winnipeg where she lived most of her life. She will be sadly missed and forever loved by her husband, Leon, of 48 years; her three sons, Chris, Jeff (Amanda) and Richard (fiancee Robelin); grandchildren Olivia, Mitchell and Riel (mom Danielle); Sandy's sister Gillian; brother Greg (Natalie); and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Jean Gale; her brother, Randy; and sisters, Debbie, Carol and her nephew Sean Gale. Sandy was the best wife, mother and grandmother anyone could ever wish for. She always showed her love for all her family and friends and everyone she came into contact with; also being the best cook and baker ever. Sandy also worked as a nursing assistant most of her life with the last twenty years at Deer Lodge Centre. She was very involved at St. Peter's Church including being a member of the Catholic Women's League for over forty years, serving many years as president. She was involved in many other ministries including usher and Extraordinary Minister of Communion, many times taking Holy Communion to shut-ins in the parish. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to all the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital Emergency, I.C.U. and the fifth floor for being so helpful and kind to her in the last week and other times in the last year when she was in the hospital. Also, a special thank you to Msgr. Samson Jr. for visiting Sandy in I.C.U. and giving her the Sacrament of the sick. He will be officiating at the prayers and Mass of the Resurrection. A special thank you to Father Sean Cahill who was with Sandy and all of us for the final time. Prayers will be said at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin Street, on Thursday, January 17, beginning at 7:30 p.m. after the 7:00 p.m. mass with Msgr. Samson Jr. officiating. He is also officiating at the Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, January 18, beginning at 10:00 a.m., also at St. Peter's Church. A luncheon will follow in the parish hall. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in memory of Sandy to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice. We love you, Mom, and will always miss you. May our Good Lord grant you eternal life.
