IVAN CSATH It is with great sadness the family of Ivan Robert-Steven Csath announce his sudden passing at his home in Parksville on January 3, 2019 at the age of 61. He is forever cherished by his wife April Quigley. His legacy survived by beloved sons, Graeme Csath, Derek Csath and grandson Owen Johnson. He will be greatly missed by his sister Mary Csath, niece Amanda Craigie and nephew James Craigie, and extended family members and friends in Winnipeg and Hungary. Born in Winnipeg, July 10, 1957. Ivan was strong in values as he was on the football and rugby field holding many positions with the Mustangs Football Club, Manitoba Bisons, and St. Vital Rugby Club - but he always had a soft spot for animals and would often rescue lost dogs and return them to safety. Ivan loved hiking and canoeing remote lakes with family at the cabin on Lac Lu, Ontario. Ivan was a public service member that truly cared for the communities he served. His many acts of kindness and active volunteering remind us all to find the warmth in our hearts. He is endearingly remembered for his ever-present sense of humour and countless practical jokes. As he shared wisdom with his boys: there is peace in the stillness of the water that guides the canoe. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your local SPCA or animal shelter. A Celebration of Life will be held in Winnipeg at a later date.

  • Ivan was a great person, who was a joy to work with. Even going a couple of years without seeing each other, we would pick up right where we left off. • Ivan was one of the good guys in life. We had known each other for 30 years as Ivan was my first FTO with the WPS and even though we only spoke a handful of times a year, the next conversation seemed like we had just talked the day before. I hope his family and friends can heal from this in time and the knowledge that Ivan did touch many a heart in positive ways. So for me it’s not “good bye”, but “will see ya later Ishmail”. - Posted by: Brian Christmann (Friend) on: Jan 16, 2019
