WILLIAM (BILL) ALEXANDER REID January 8, 1935 - December 20, 2018 It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Bill at his home on December 20, 2018 at the age of 83. He is survived by his son Martin (Roberta), brother David (Margaret), sister Margaret and many nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Scotland and immigrated to Canada as a young man. His work as an architect for the Government of the Northwest Territories took him to Inuvik 33 years ago where he fell in love with the people and the communities of the north. He made his home in Yellowknife, NWT in 1990. Much of his inspiration came from his involvement with the community. He had a great love of knowledge and a sharp wit. As far as we know, he had never lost a debate. Bill's love for art and teaching included watercolor painting, cartooning, calligraphy, poetry, photography and music. Bill was a published artist and author. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held at Calvary Community Church on January 3, 2019. We would like to thank Calvary Community Church, McKenna Funeral Home and Avens Centre for seniors for their support during this difficult time. We will all miss you Dad.

  • I would like to offer my condolences now as I just learned of Bill's passing. He was a good friend to me and my family in Yellowknife and there are only good things to say. I have a lovely watercolour of his that brings him to mind whenever I view it. Sincere Condolences to his family though I never met you. - Posted by: Stuart Spofford (Friend) on: Apr 07, 2021
