Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySECELA THERESE KATHLEEN MARY (TESS) DUTTON Tess' love affair with Winnipeg and its sports teams ended Sunday, January 13, 2019 after watching the Jets overtime win from a bed in the intensive care unit at Grace Hospital. Born April 10, 1919 in Leigh-on-Sea, England, Tess was a proud war bride who came to Canada in 1946 to join her beloved Charlie. Settling first in Kamloops, BC, where daughter Pat was born, the family relocated to Winnipeg in 1948, with son Ian soon joining the clan. An athlete of note in her youth, Tess was a devoted fan of the Blue Bombers and of the Jets in their various incarnations. She also spent countless hours enjoying the comfort and solace of the family cabin at LacLu, ON. Mourning her passing are Pat Roe, granddaughter Jen Roe (Brian Larson), great-granddaughters, Kennedy and Peyton, all of Winnipeg, son Ian (Vicki) of Pender Island, BC, and granddaughters, Renee Thompson (Matt) of Calgary and Robyn Dutton of Vancouver. Predeceased by husband Charlie in 1969 and son-in-law Bob Roe in 2014. Never wanting to be the center of attention, Tess asked there be no service. But her children, never the best at listening, are having a tea service anyway, Sunday, January 20 at 2:00 p.m. at 885 Wilkes Ave.

Words cannot express my sorrow at hearing this news. Tess was a co-worker and friend for many years. After her retirement, we spent many hours chatting on the 'phone and I always knew the kettle would be on for tea if I dropped in to visit. My sincere condolences to Pat, Ian and their families. Your Mom was a good friend and I will miss her terribly. - Posted by: Teresa Walsh (friend) on: Jan 19, 2019
