Born: Jun 25, 1924
Date of Passing: Jan 16, 2019
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVE DZOGAN June 25, 1924 - January 16, 2019 Surrounded by the love of his family, Dave Dzogan passed away at the Grace Hospital on January 16, 2019, in his 95th year. Left to treasure the memories of this kind, gentle man are his wife of 70 years, Olive, son Ken (Leslie), daughter Jan (Les Jennings), daughter Sandy, grandson Ted (Sharla), and granddaughter Colleen. Big Grampa Dave will be missed by great-grandchildren, Edan, Aleena and Kane. Dave was predeceased by his brothers, and is survived by his sister-in-law Marie Dzogan, brother-in-law Ed Kustra (Lil), and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was a voracious reader and a writer of his life stories. He was very proud of growing up on a dairy farm, and at gatherings regaled his family with stories of country life. He began his education at Wentworth, a two-room school house near Inkster and Keewatin, and retired as an instructor from Assiniboine Community College (Brandon). He taught automotive mechanics, economics, mathematics and developed curriculum. He was a long-serving executive member of the North American Association of College Automotive Teachers. Throughout his life, Dave had many interests (wordworking, winemaking, computers, genealogy, the Jets, the Bombers, the news, and listening to music) and he could fix or build anything. He was also a proud 25-year member of the Reh-Fit Centre. After retirement, Dave and Olive enjoyed travelling (road trips, cruises and Europe). Although a man of few words, when he spoke, Dave's observations were often punctuated with a witty remark. For a while, he was a high school drivers' ed instructor and when asked by a student, "Why?" he answered, "Because some day, you and I will be on the same road!" We'll never forget his sayings and expressions and wonder about the ones he had yet to share. A family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Stasiuk and the staff of CAU, and especially Dr. Racette for her exceptional care. We will miss you always and love you forever. Good-night, my love. Thank you, Dad.

Very sorry to learn about Dave's passing. He was a true gentleman and a real family man. In fact, our families go back together for many decades. I still have fond recollections of playing with Ken and Janet at the home of their grandparents or my parents (Sandy was a relative newcomer in those days!). Our sincere sympathy to Olive and the entire family - may you find strength in your many happy memories. Eugene Szach and family - Posted by: Eugene Szach (Family friend) on: Jan 25, 2019
