Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERB SCHILLER Herb Schiller, beloved husband of Nora (nee Bodrug), passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019, at the age of 87, at the Kelowna hospice. Herb was born in Winnipeg, on January 7, 1932 and graduated from Daniel Mcintyre high school in Winnipeg. He became a hockey enthusiast captaining the Flin Flon Bombers junior team in 1951 to 1952 and continued playing in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and in New York, North Carolina, Maryland and Michigan. Following his hockey career he worked for the City of Winnipeg Parks board and upon retiring in 1993 moved to Kelowna in 1996, British Columbia where he enjoyed golfing with his Okanagan buddies. He is predeceased by his parents, Adolphe and Atalia; and sister Norma McDonald (Murdoch and Neil). He is survived by brother Ed (Shirley); nieces, Julie Schiller-Birch (Tamzin and Nathan), Gretchen (Olivier, Gabriela and Emeline) and Heather Stafford (Richard, Kevin and Erin), and Maureen McDonald (Ashley). Herb Superb was known for his Elvis impressions and his interests in all sports if a bet could be made. The family wishes to acknowledge the superb care given to Herb at the Interior Health hospice and to his physician Dr. Schriemer. A Celebration of Life will be held this summer, 2019.
