IDA MILLICENT TONSAKER July 17, 1914 - January 17, 2019 Sadly, we announce the passing of "Millie" Tonsaker at Mountain View Manor in Ladner on Thursday, January 17, 2019. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Ralph in 2002, her parents, Arthur and Catherine Urry and her five siblings. Millie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her daughter Beryl Prokop (Bill), her three granddaughters, Cori Singleterry (Cliff), Michelle Prokop and Catherine Rolheiser (Eric) and her four adored great-grandchildren, Claire and Graeme Hirst, Rylee and Rachel Singleterry. Millie was born in Stonewall, MB, educated in Arborg and Stonewall, MB. Upon high school graduation she attended Teachers College in Winnipeg. She began her teaching career in a one-room school house in the Interlake of Manitoba and she ended her career with the Seven Oaks School Division in Winnipeg. Millie and Ralph were married in Arborg, resided in Chatfield where Millie was active in the community Women's Institute and Spruce View School. They moved to Winnipeg in 1953 where they both were involved in the founding of the Chatfield Old Timer's Club. Their home was always a welcome haven for family and friends. In 1987 they moved to Tsawwassen, BC. to be close to their daughter Beryl and family. Thank you to Mountain View Manor North for all the care and compassion these past seven years and a special thank you to Millie's wonderful caregiver, Karen. Millie was an amazing lady, wonderful Mother, Grandma and Gran-Gran! We were blessed to have her in our lives for so many years. A family interment of Millie and Ralph's ashes will be held in Salt Spring Island later this summer.
