DENIS JOSEPH COLLETTE It is with great sadness the family announces that Denis Collette passed away peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2019, at the Misericordia Health Centre, at the age of 85 years. Denis was predeceased by his mother Irene Collette (nee Labelle), father Rudy Collette, brothers, Orville, Paul, Leo Fontaine, and sister Cecile Vandale. He leaves to mourn his passing, daughter Donna Collette, son James Collette (Nina), grandchildren, Brooke (David), Brittany (Edward), Paige (Greg) and Rochelle (Jeremy); great-grandchildren, Finley Mae, Logan, Ryker, Preslie and Ella; as well as his sister Denise Kurlan, and his long-time partner Judy Mauro. Dad was born December 30, 1933 in St. Elizabeth, MB and grew up in St. Boniface. He worked at Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and retired from Florist Supply Wholesale Co. in 1989. He loved curling in his younger years, watched all kinds of sports and did the crossword puzzle daily. His biggest interest was family. He was so proud of us all, and he will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank the staff at both Riverview Health Centre and Misericordia Health Centre for the care and compassion given to Dad while in their care. In keeping with Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Jim, Donna and Inga and all the girls. I will always remember Denis as one of the kindest people I knew. He was a kind, gentle father-in-law that loved his grandkids and looked forward to seeing them. He was always up for enjoying himself at shuffleboard and the various parties. He was loved by many. May everyone's fond memories of times past carry you through this difficult time. I know the last little while was not an easy time for him and for family. Rest now Denis. Lovingly remembered. - Posted by: Linda Rock (ex daughter in law) on: Jan 26, 2019
