AGNES ISABELLA (NANCY) WRIGHT (NICOLL) June 9, 1928 - January 21, 2019 With love, we announce the passing of Nancy on Monday, January 21, 2019. Nancy was born and lived most of her life in Winnipeg. She was proud of her Scottish heritage and was predeceased by: her husband Michael Wright; and her parents, Robert and Jean Nicoll (Robertson), all originally from Scotland. Nancy was also predeceased by her sisters, Rachael Mills (Max) and Jean Duncan (Jim) and her brother Bob Nicoll (Bernice). Nancy is survived by her brother Jim Nicoll (Joan) and many nieces and nephews. Nancy's family and friends will miss her helpful nature and generosity. She was very independent and took a one-year solo backpacking trip around the world, joking: "I turned 64 in Singapore." Nancy also enjoyed the family cottage at Victoria Beach and spending time in her garden. She loved baking and sharing treats, such as plum pudding and Christmas cake. Nancy was a longtime member of the Manitoba Naturalist Society and supporter of many environmental causes. Nancy worked as an x-ray technician in Winnipeg. Nancy spent the last two years of her life at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, where she made special friendships. Nancy and her family very much appreciated the kindness and excellent care of the staff. In keeping with a lifetime of service, Nancy chose to donate her body to medical research at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Medicine for "Service After Death". A private family memorial will be held. If desired, a donation may be made to charity of choice.
