SLAVKO ISTVANIC It is with sadness and a pain in my heart that I announce death of my beloved husband, Slavko Istvanic, who passed away peacefully, on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the age of 75 years. Love for his family and friends was unconditional, and his love for music was un-describable. Slavko is survived by his sisters, Danijela and Silvana, nephews and nieces and many Godchildren, whom he loved dearly. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Nicholas Tavelich Croatian Roman Catholic Church, 2688 Main Street, Winnipeg. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. also in the church with Rev. Fr. Marko Stefanec presiding. Special thanks for caring for my husband to Dr. Barac, Dr. R. Guzman and Dr. Zlatko Pozeg. Condolences may be sent to www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com

  • We are so sorry for your loss. Our loving thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. - Posted by: Elizabeth Szabo (Friend) on: Jan 31, 2019

  • My dear Slavi had the biggest, kindest and most loving heart in the world. It is impossibly hard to write in words what Slavi meant to me. I can't count the number of times that both Slavi and Vesna took care of me, fed me, took me on trips, comforted me and were there for me when I needed them. Slavi was like a Dad to me. He helped teach me how to defend myself (when I was just a little girl), and he helped me learn how to ride a bike and drive a car (in Vesna's brand new Crown Victoria). I loved him dearly and I will miss him so very much. God Bless you dear, sweet Slavi. - Posted by: Melita Belusic (Family friend, but like family ) on: Jan 31, 2019

  • I've almost known you Vesna and Slavi,( as you were my Dad's friends), all my life, and you were part of our family and after you became our dear friends and dear to all of us. Slavco was able to make you feel he was your friend and his age difference was never & seemed to not be an issue no matter which group he fell into at functions. He was young at heart so the young loved him & he was interesting to his peers, to some he was "Google" ~ as he was very knowledgeable, and with his interesting views on things, he was smart and full, of stories which most everyone could relate to. He was funny, but most of all he was our dear and good family friend. Dear Vesna, God Bless you ~ am sending you and your family, blessings from my heart. - Posted by: Georgi (DurJda) Zoricic (Miller) Drolet (Family friend) on: Jan 30, 2019

  • Dearest Vesna, The words can not describe the sorrow in my heart for the loss of your Slavi. He was a good man with a huge heart, always there to help those in need. I will cherish the memories of our friendship forever. We all were, and are, a family of friends. I will always be grateful for all the kindness and help Slavi and you extended to me and to my sweet little Melita. You were there for us when no one else was. We are all so sorry for your loss. Our loving thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. Blessings, Jadranka and Family - Posted by: Adrienne Skrober (Jadranka) (Family friend) on: Jan 30, 2019
