Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGUERITE GUIGUENO (née SIMARD) It is with great sadness that the family announces that Marguerite Guigueno passed away peacefully on February 3, 2019, at Actionmarguerite (Foyer Valade), at the age of 95, with her family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters and one son: Marie Cadieux (Maurice); Liliane; Suzanne Chaput (Roland); and Roland (Jacqueline). She will be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren: Nicole (Perry), Marcel (Lise), Justin (Melanie), Valérie (Robert), Miguel, Natalie, Mélanie (Kyle) and Janelle (Kevin); and her five great-grandchildren: Joëlle, Jérémie, Colin, Félix and Arthur. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Imelda Simard, and many nieces and nephews. Marguerite was predeceased by her husband Félix in 1992. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Ernest, Etienne, Elisé, Eloi and Eustache; and her sisters, Marie-Ange, Marie-Claire, Madeleine and Marie-Louise. She was born in La Broquerie, Manitoba on April 7, 1923, the sixth child of Henri and Martine Simard (née Coté). At the age of 18, Marguerite went to work in St. Claude, Manitoba and met Félix Guigueno. They were married on March 4, 1943 and lived in St. Claude during the early years of their marriage and then moved to various areas of St. Boniface. Marguerite lived in her home until the age of 91 and then moved to Villa Aulneau until May 2018. The family would like to thank the staff at Foyer Valade for the care and kindness given to Marguerite during her stay. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Paroisse Cathédrale Saint-Boniface, 180 avenue de la Cathédrale, Saint-Boniface, Manitoba. To all my dear cousins, My prayers are with you all at this very sad time. Auntie Marguerite will be missed. I have great memories of her when I would come to Winnipeg to visit. Sorry I can't be you as the weather does not allow me to do so. I will be thinking of you all tomorrow. Rest in Peace dear Auntie. Farewell Auntie Marguerite ... you were the last one standing of my mother's siblings and will be missed. I will never forget how you often called me "Felix" and then smiled and corrected yourself ... it actually made me feel extra special every time!
