CECILIA TERESA MCMILLAN (nee JURKOWSKI) Cecilia passed away peacefully at Bevan Village, Abbotsford on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the age of 88. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph McMillan; loving mother of Catherine (Dan) Fitzgerald, Bill (Doris) McMillan, Joan McMillan, Monica McMillan and Lorraine McMillan (Dennis Obee); cherished grandmother of Ryan VanDokkumberg, Alexander Woodman, Victoria McMillan and Connor McMillan, and dear sister of Louise Daeninck (the late Marcel). Besides her husband, Joseph, she was predeceased by her siblings, Caroline (Steve) Swirhun, Verna (Raymond) McMillan, Louis (Sophie) Jurkowski, Edward (Lorraine) Jurkowski and Stanley (Elsie) Jurkowski. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Cecilia was a first generation Canadian who was proud of her Polish heritage. She married Joseph in 1955 and shortly after they made the journey from Manitoba to BC, spending most of their married life on Vancouver Island. Cecilia worked hard, but enjoyed knitting, embroidery, sewing, cooking and baking. Being a perfectionist, she created beautiful pieces of superior workmanship in her spare time. She will be greatly missed. A private memorial service will be held at McCall Gardens in Victoria, BC and cremation with interment will take place at Hatley Memorial Gardens in Victoria.
