BEVERLEY ELIZABETH CHAFE
Date of Passing: Feb 11, 2019
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEVERLEY ELIZABETH CHAFE 1936 - 2019 Beverley Elizabeth Chafe left us peacefully on Monday, February 11, 2019. Beverley was a bright, passionate, lovely woman, always with a cheerful smile or neighbourly grin. Her spirit was as beautiful as the garden that she created and affectionately tended with her long-time partner and best friend, Hugh David Taylor. With a sparkle in her eye and compassion in her heart, she was interested in everyone and unfailingly there for her family and friends-old and new-with a needed hug, an easy laugh or a helping hand. From her birthplace in Winnipeg to her home in Ottawa and through her network of close and extended family and friends around the world, including Hugh David and her children, Cynthia, Scott and Elizabeth McDougall and grandchildren, she will be remembered for her unconditional love and warmth. A reception in her memory will be hosted this Sunday, February 15, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please email smcd1701@gmail for details. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, whose care and compassion were superlative, would be welcome. Condolences and tributes www.TubmanFuneralHomes.com

Bev was a very beautiful, artistic and talented, engaging woman, awesome Mother, outstanding professional and loyal friend. I knew Bev in Winnipeg in the 1950s through the 1970s and after our moves to other parts of Canada we found each other again in the 1980s when I was travelling to Ottawa. We would have dinner and catch up on each other's activities and joys. Since around 2010 I have not been in touch with Bev, but I know how she sparkled when Hugh David Taylor came into her life, and whenever she spoke of her dear children and grandchildren. My deep condolences to her family and friends. She will be remembered with love by all those she touched so deeply with her warmth, charm and grace. I would be delighted if someone from her family would be in touch when they have time. My e-mail: pege398@shaw.ca. phone: 250 477 7334. I grew up with Beverley in Winnipeg; went to school together; worked at CAS together; kept in touch as young mothers; visited and communicated with each other occasionally all of our lives. She was a wonderful person who was genuine in her care for others and her love of life and I have hundreds of wonderful memories of our relationship and the experiences we shared together in our Winnipeg days. Her passing is a great loss to me as I am sure it is to all of her family and friends. (Hugh -- please do send me an email when you have time as I would like to connect with you.)
