PETER WALTER SMYRICHINSKY August 18, 1942 - January 11, 2019 On January 11, 2019 Peter passed away at the age of 76 years at the Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. He is survived by his sons, Todd and Alan, daughter Sheri Stewart, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his brother Russell (Linda) and daughter Lisa of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Nastia. Peter grew up in Vita, Manitoba and attended Shevchenko School, St. Pauls High School and United College in Winnipeg. In the early 1960's he moved to Fargo, N.D. and a few years later to Southern Indiana. Peter loved cars from the early 1960's and had a collection which included two 1964 GTO convertibles which were his favourites. He was also an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. During the last ten years Peter suffered with Parkinson's disease and was not able to travel but did enjoy the visits by his brother twice a year. Peter enjoyed hearing about his old schoolmates that he grew up with. Cremation has taken place by Chapman Funeral Home, Clarksville, Indiana.

  • I just found out that one of my best friends from my early days in Winnipeg had passed on. I spent a lot of time with Pete and his wife in their tiny apartment!
