Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELEANOR JOYCE MARCINYSHYN (nee MAJOR) August 25, 1939 - January 29, 2019 Suddenly, on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, Eleanor passed away at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 79 years. Eleanor leaves to cherish her memory, her best friend and husband of 60 years, Frank, daughter Debbie (Tom) Glenewinkel, son Brent, and the joy of her life, grandson David (Vanessa). She will be greatly missed by her brothers, Rod (Joyce) Major of Lake Country, BC, and Ken (Judy) Major of Strathmore, AB, as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father Orvil, and mother Hazel. On August 25, 1939, Eleanor was born in Carman, MB. Her early years were spent on the family farm near Haywood, MB. In 1953, at the age of 14, she moved to the big city where she lived with her grandparents, so she could attend school at General Wolfe and then Daniel McIntyre. Eleanor and Frank met in September, 1955 and were married on August 30, 1958. Mom started her first job at Moore's Business Forms in 1956. While raising her family, she worked on and off over the years. She retired from her last job with Manitoba Lotteries in April, 2008. Eleanor had a great memory right to the end, especially for dates and numbers. She loved dancing, country music, playing cards and bingo. Her other interests included reading, crossword puzzles and her iPad. Eleanor especially enjoyed summer family vacations to visit family and friends across Canada, numerous trips to Mexico and trips to Las Vegas and nearby casinos. In December, 2016, Mom's life as she wanted to live it was forever changed. Her health steadily declined as she moved between hospitals and home. As per Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held April 27, 2019, at Prairie Spirit United Church, 207 Thompson Drive, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba, 100 - 4 Fort Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1C4. I am so happy that we made it home to see you at Christmas Grandma...It still seems weird to know that you will not be there the next time I come home...you were there for me since my birth. Thank you for your unconditional love and support...especially through the toughest times. I am happy that we had the last three years especially. I appreciated you so much more for everything you did for me. I love you so much and I will always miss you💖 - Posted by: David (Grandson) on: Mar 01, 2019

My Sympathies to all the family. Eleanor and I got to know each other over the years. Lots of fun when we got together. Usually as family get togethers. I miss you very much. I know you tried hard to stay longer. May you rest in peace. - Posted by: Gloria Nagy (Family) on: Feb 23, 2019
