MURRAY SPARBER It is with deep grief and sorrow that we announce the passing of beloved husband, father, uncle and friend, Murray Sparber, on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Murray was everyone's best friend, making sure people felt included in whatever he was a part of. He made friends easily and everywhere he went there was always someone he knew. Murray was a tremendous husband to his wife of 48 and a half years, Bettie. They weathered every storm side by side and made beautiful memories and music together. He always beamed when she was by his side. Murray was a wonderful father to his daughter Shawna. She was the apple of his eye and he doted on her. He would tell anyone who would listen all about his wonderful girl. Murray was an exceptional leader as Foreman at the Winnipeg Transit's North Garage. He made sure his team worked quickly, efficiently and effectively to get the job done. Left to mourn his loss are wife of nearly 49 years, Bettie, daughter Shawna, brother Leo, sisters-in-law, Joy, Edie and Arlene (Jeff), and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. We want to say a very public thank you to Nada Ivancovic, Cheryll, Joey, Olga and the rest of the staff at Simkin North First Floor for taking care of Murray these last few years but especially during his last days. A very special thank you to the NODA volunteers who stayed with Murray during his final days. Funeral will be held at Congregation Etz Chayim, 123 Matheson Avenue East, March 1, 11:00 a.m., with Condolences lunch to follow at Gwen Secter Creative Living Centre, 1588 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
