Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM EUGENE WIZNIAK Born: February 27, 1945 Died: February 24, 2019 Bill passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital on February 24, 2019 with his family and friends by his side. He is survived by Diane, his wife of 54 years; his children, Bill Jr. (Trish), and Marni Grabowski (Blaine); grandchildren, Connor and Laura Wizniak, and Kevin and Lisa Grabowski; sister Louise Ferris (Bill); nieces, Erin Ferris and Colleen Weighell; and grandnephew Joey Weighell. Bill spent 28 rewarding years as Head of Technical Arts at the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature. He was an avid sports fan and a terrific fastball pitcher both as a youth and an adult. In his teens he worked part time at a local 10-pin bowling alley primarily so he could bowl until the wee hours for free. He had a playful teasing sense of humour which always caused much family eye-rolling and the occasional explanation to strangers who didn't notice the twinkle in his eye. He will be missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and there will be no official service. We mourn now, but also celebrate his life well-lived.

I’m so sorry to here about Wiz’s death. He had the office down the hall from me I am so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing, and please accept my condolences for your loss. Bill had the door down the hall from me at the museum, and it was always open for everyone. He was a great support for me in all the fee for service projects I did, and I depended on him to run interference if there were any difficulties. He was a good friend and boss, and I too will miss his genial presence and some of his jokes also. It was Bill who realized from looking at the blueprints that the ceiling in the Hudson Bay Gallery was very low and that insight led to the subsequent fight with the architects to raise it. He always had the best interests of the museum at heart. Betsy - Posted by: Betsy Thorsteinson (boss) on: Mar 10, 2019

Dear Diane, who cannot remember Bill with his kindness, caring and too many laughs to count. The fun we had for so many years. Bill was always there when someone needed something or anything. Too loved by so many as I write this with tears. He will be so missed but so remembered for his kind heart and love. He holds a special place in our hearts, as do you. Bill was a great font of knowledge in the museum community. I worked with Bill for many years. He managed many importent projects foremost the building of the Hudsons Bay Museum Collection Gallery. This included the Gallery, special climate-controlled storage and archival prep space for ongoing work by archival staff. Bill offered me his advice on many projects and my design and construction skills improved over the years improved over the years. Bill I really appreciated that! My condolences to family and all who all he held dear. - Posted by: David Hopper (Coworker) on: Mar 03, 2019

Bill had a terrific personality, and known to some of us as "HAIR". He could deepen his voice at times to sound like Mr. KONYK. Bill was also an avid/charter member of the "Montereys Car Club. He will be sadly missed. - Posted by: Terence Whiteside (Friend) on: Mar 03, 2019
