Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDEBORAH ARLENE NEWTON March 10, 1951 - January 17, 2019 Peacefully, in her sleep, Debi passed away at her home in Las Vegas. Debi was born and raised in Roblin, Manitoba. She received her teaching degree from the University of Manitoba and taught phys-ed in Winnipeg and Carman. After a few years, Debi changed career paths and became a nurse. This allowed her to travel and work in the United States - eventually settling in Las Vegas where her passion for outdoor activities such as golf, tennis, hiking, kayaking, camping and skiing were all close by. She had many wonderful friends there, most importantly Cindy, MJ and Wendy who shared her love of the outdoors and were always up for an adventure. Debi had six childhood friends whom she remained close with during her lifetime. Gayle, Shelley, Ilona, Connie, Sheila and Pat celebrated each milestone birthday as well as town and school reunions with Debi. For 10 years Debi had a cottage at Sandy Hook where she spent her summers with her sisters, nieces and nephews. Debi will be sorely missed by her brothers and sisters, Hugh, Shelley, Helen (Don) and Spencer (Mardie). Her nephews, Jarrett, Kerry, Spencer, Jay, Mike and Dave, and her nieces, Carlana, Karlie and Tiffany had a very close relationship with their "Ant" Deb. She will be forever in their hearts. Debi gave them memories to last a lifetime. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Jo Ann, and brother-in-law Bill. A Celebration of Life for her family and friends will be held in Winnipeg in June. "Day is done, gone the sun, From the lake, from the hills, from the sky; All is well, safely rest, God is nigh."

I didn't know Deb as well as I'd like to have known her but I do know she loved her family & friends & was loved dearly in return. I remember a fun, lively, active, enthusiastic, caring lady. She shone brightly & left us too soon, but is at peace now. Love & hugs to our nieces & nephews in common & her brothers & sisters & their families. - Posted by: Kathy L.
