CHARLOTTE ELIZABETH LAVIOLETTE (CHESTER)
Born: May 19, 1951
Date of Passing: Mar 09, 2019
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLOTTE ELIZABETH LAVIOLETTE (CHESTER) May 19, 1951 - March 9, 2019 Unexpectedly, following a ruptured brain aneurysm, Charlotte died on March 9, 2019 at 5:02 p.m. Left to mourn her loss are her loving husband Sid, daughters, Dayna (Dylan) and Michelle, sons, Travis (Katie) and Corey (Carolyn). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Marcus, Chloe, Blake, Carter and Olivia; sister Carole (Bob), and brother Ashley (Janet). Born in Charleswood, Winnipeg, youngest daughter of the late Margot and Tommy Chester, she maintained a close connection to the Charleswood community through her church - St. Mary Anglican all her life. Her roles in the church were extensive and her love for her fellow parishioners was boundless. Charlotte had a great love for her family and close friends and went above and beyond to make every occasion special. She had a quick wit, rich sense of humour and made everyone feel welcome in her home and community. Playing active roles in community food banks, volunteering with the Salvation Army and handing out roses with Chloe at Safeway to brighten someone's day were just some of the ways she took pleasure from making someone else smile. In the last decade, Charlotte and Sid had the opportunity to travel extensively, including numerous trips to the Caribbean, a US Midwest road trip and through Europe, with highlights in her beloved England, Tuscany and Ireland. Charlotte also believed you could not appreciate travel abroad without first knowing your own country. Fiercely patriotic, she celebrated Canada Day with pride and travelled through the country visiting family and friends which brought her great joy. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre SICU for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Mary Anglican Church, 3830 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg, MB on Saturday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her memory to St. Mary Anglican Church.

Nana,I mean no matter what I will always be in too much shock. Every night I pray for you hoping you can hear me but it kills me inside to know you can’t respond. Just know I will forever love you and will never forget our every day sleepovers. When we would eat bags of black licorice and watch shows and movies together. When we would say our pray together before bed. When you would come over every morning and I would sit on your lap while you drank your coffee. Or when every Sunday after church you would drive Blake and I to seven eleven and then drop us off at home with a big hug and kiss. When no matter how much money something was if little Chloe wanted it you would but it for me. I will never stop loving you nana!!Enjoy heaven. You deserve the best!!love Chloe. - Posted by: Chloe (Granddaughter/best friend) on: Jan 21, 2024

Everything feels so surreal right now. Charlotte from that day many years ago when you, Dayna, and I met at the YMCA I have enjoyed our friendship. Even when I moved first to Souris, and than to Alberta we managed to stay in touch thanks to the internet. Among my favorite memories are how we would faithfully work out at the Y and then head over to Tim Horton's for a coffee. It was a lovely way to start a day. RIP my friend. - Posted by: Karen and Don Murdock (Friend) on: Mar 21, 2019

Our sincere condolences to you Sid and your family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Charlotte was such a lovely lady and loved her family so much. She was the first person to offer prayers when my husband was diagnosed with cancer. She always had time for a smile and a positive thought. A life taken much too soon! Rest in Peace Charlotte. - Posted by: Mary Richardson/Michael Altham (Friend) on: Mar 18, 2019
