GUDNI CARL ERICKSON Gudni Carl Erickson, aged 70, passed peacefully to the great beyond on March 16, 2019. Carl will be lovingly remembered by his wife Linda; his daughter Cheryl (Wally Sliboda); his son Dan (Susie); his mother Luella; his grandchildren, Teri, Alexis, Haley and Jordan; his great-grandson Kayden and "almost here" great-granddaughter; his sister Selena (Vic Hogue); his brother Don (Kathy Harlos); many relatives, in-laws and friends. He was predeceased by his father Sigudur Jules and his in-laws, Hugo and Linnea Granberg. Carl was an incredibly generous man, always willing to lend a helping hand with his time, knowledge, and skills. He retired early to build his dream cottage at Lundar Beach where he was most at peace. His family will take his ashes to the cottage and celebrate his life this summer. Thank you to the Angels - the doctors, nurses and staff who cared for Carl at Grace Hospital and Deer Lodge Centre. Condolences may be sent to www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com

  • It seems Carl never recovered from the flood of 2011, which surely took its toll, and squashed his dreams, and yours too Linda. We recall good times of visiting and teaming at the cottage. I (Glenn) appreciated working with Carl on dikes. I especially recall the day we were on the sandbags, using sewing machines to better fasten the geotech cloth in place to prevent erosion from those pounding waves. With the predicted flood threat this year, I'm glad Carl won't have to face the stress and unknown of that monster again. At the same time we're sorry to have lost a friend and neighbour. Peace be with you and the family, Linda. Noreen & Glenn Duncan - Posted by: Glenn & Noreen Duncan (Lundsr Beach Neighbours) on: Mar 23, 2019

  • I remember spending many weekends with Carl and Selena in Eriksdale, we had some great times. One memory I have is the one time I was there Aunty Luella had waxed her hardwood floor in the living room, then given each of us a pair of men's work socks so we could slide up and down the floor. Clever lady that she is - it was to polish them of course and to give us something to do. It was such fun though! Sadly today, it is with a heavy heart that I send my condolences to the whole family, Carl was much too young to leave you but I hope that all the wonderful memories you have of him will sustain you through your grieving. Our deepest sympathy to everyone, Love Alfreda & Tom - Posted by: Alfreda Duffy (1st cousins) on: Mar 23, 2019

  • I am a member of the UNIFOR union and previous to that I was a member of the CAIMAW union in which Carl was a staff representative. It's been many years since I have seen or spoken with Carl. Carl was well liked by those he served in the union, he was a great negotiator for the workers that depended on him for their collective agreement language. Carl will be missed by all who knew him and he will be remembered by those he served. Thank you for your time with us! On behalf of Jess Succamore and the surviving CAIMAW Executive and staff, Forever in our thoughts, Tony Zienkiewicz Union brother - Posted by: Tony Zienkiewicz (Friend) on: Mar 23, 2019
