BRYAN DENIS JOSEPH DEMARCKE April 14, 1953 - March 21, 2019 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bryan Demarcke at Riverview Health Centre, surrounded by family. Bryan will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his wife, Lynne; three children, Nicole (Remi) Toupin, Michèle (Stu Gresham) and Daniel (Alaina); granddaughters, Jayney, Laura, Peyton and Adrianna; sisters, Lorraine (Walter) Kisil and Janet Demarcke; brother Paul (Diana Cowell); in-laws, Gisèle and Denis Fontaine, Carole and Gilles Quenelle, Jackie Fillion and Jeanette Roy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bryan was predeceased by his parents, Petrus (Pete) and Simone Demarcke, his brother Cyriel, and his in-laws, Roger Fillion, Jules and Thérèse Ménard, Normand Fillion and Brian Fraser. Bryan was born and raised in Winnipeg, where he worked for Antex Western Ltd. for 45 years, from truck driver to owner and manager of Special Projects. He married the love of his life, Lynne (née Fillion), on February 2, 1974, enjoying 45 years of blissful marriage. He was a dedicated family man and cherished every moment spent together. His granddaughters were the apples of his eye, he was very proud of them and loved them dearly. Bryan lived life to the fullest where he could be found cooking the most delicious dishes or making wooden bowls, pens and pow wow drums in his workshop. He loved travelling with his wife, especially to Europe and his winters were spent in Mesa, Arizona. He also spent his time with friends on the golf course, playing cards or talking at the bullshit table at the Belgium Club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Conseils Goulet and Saints-Martyrs Canadiens, for over 35 years. Bryan had a great sense of humour. He was always willing to help family and friends and left an impression on so many people who still look up to him to this day. The family would like to thank the health care providers who took care of him over the last year, as well as Frère Germain Kpakafi for his pastoral visits. In keeping with Bryan's wishes, cremation has taken place and a funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, with eulogy beginning at 10:45 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass in the Parish of Saints-Martyrs Canadiens, 289 Dussault Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bryan's memory to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Bryan, ta présence restera dans nos coeurs pour toujours. E.J. COUTU & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald Street 204-253-5086 ejcoutu.ca

Knew Bryan as a supplier of building materials to Antex Western for over 25 years. Bryan was always fair to deal with, and a pleasure to be around. Business relationships like the one we had made going to work something to look forward to and at the same time rewarding. I extend my sincere condolences to his son Dan who I got to know very well over the years and the entire Demarcke family. No doubt you have all lost a truly great man and friend! It is impossible for me to avoid seeing Bryan’s influence. The design input he had into my residence, the skill he displayed by installing a steel door & frame with a peep hole in my garage, the backsplash in my kitchen, and more, were all due to his insight & effort. All I had to do is ask for advice, and he would say “I love doing that. I’ll be by tomorrow”. And he was. No-one ever had to say that there was a problem on a project. Bryan was either there fixing it, or he was on his way with the solution. This was the Captain Marvel of our industry. He was respected by his peers and his staff. Bryan could not ever be replaced. RIP my friend. Elliott - Posted by: Elliott Saunders (Fellow at Antex Western) on: Mar 31, 2019

My sincere condolences to Lynne and the family. Bryan was a dear friend from 16 years old. I men him and Lynne when I met my ex-husband Ron Bilodeau. We spent many years together playing cards, having BBQ'S many great memories. I was to meet Bryan and Lynne again early 90's when I moved beside them. Bryan was an easy going, laid back, giving person. He loved his family and provided everything or anything he could. Bryan had a huge smile and laughed wholeheartedly.
