ALFRED JOSEPH PATRICK NUNN 1930 - 2019 With great sadness we announce the death of Alfred Nunn, aged 89 years, on Thursday, March 21, 2019. Alfred is sadly missed by his wife of 63 years, Barbara; children, Peter, Sheila, and Anita; their partners, Sandra, Jerry, and Bernie; grandchildren, Mark, Andrew, Rachel, Armaan, Alyia, Felicia, and Conrad; and great-grandchildren, Aiden and Jered. He was predeceased by his daughter Joyce, twin brother Bob, and older brother Bill. Alfred and Barbara ran the Austin Sports Centre and created Austin Raceways, one of Canada's most challenging Motocross tracks. He served on the hospital board, Austin Credit Union Board, and was president of the board that brought natural gas to Austin. Alfred, we hope you are riding a motorbike at full throttle on a dirt track somewhere. Cremation will take place for family only. A celebration of Alfred's life will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at Austin and District Community Hall. Condolences may be sent to www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com

Our deepest condolences to Barbara and family. We know Alfred for the great community man he was. Alfred was well respected and a pillar in the community of Austin. We will always remember him and be forever grateful for all his efforts in gathering community support to assist us on our journey to New York City for critical medical treatment for our son. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. Hope that a lifetime of warm and loving memories will help ease your sadness. - Posted by: Henry and Martha Dyck (Community aquaintences) on: Apr 12, 2019

Dad & Alfred became friends in the late 70's as we would often drop into Austin Sport Center to get gas, drop off a dull chainsaw or simply to trade jokes & laughs with him & Peter. We were also regular customers at their Laundromat and Alfred & Barbara could be seen walking back & forth each & every day. Dad built Austin Raceways with the 1st races in late 1977 & Alfred was a key supporter from the beginning. A decade later, Dad sold Austin Raceways to Alfred and moved to Saskatchewan and Alfred continued the legacy for many years thereafter. When racing lost its popularity, Alfred converted the track into Austin's one & only golf course - what a clever idea! Not only was Alfred a pillar of the community, he was also one of its greatest characters & we'll never forget his wonderful smile, great laugh & witty charm. Our condolences & warmest regards to Barbara, Peter & the entire Nunn family. - Posted by: Rudy Friesen's boys (Friends) on: Apr 10, 2019

So many great memories of times spent with the Nunn family at the home farm. Always enjoyed a chat with Alfred & Barbara when I ran into them in town after Mom & Dad were no longer with us. My deepest condolences to all the family, may your memories of him get you through this sad time. Take Care! - Posted by: Debbie Nelson (Family Friend) on: Apr 10, 2019
