ALLAN QUIRIE KENNEDY
February 25, 1950 - April 1, 2019
Allan was born in Souris, Manitoba. He lived in Napinka, Manitoba until the age of four, when he and his family moved to their home in Winnipeg's North End, where his mother and sister still reside.
Those who knew him best will sorely miss his many endearing qualities. His generosity knew no bounds. He was always sure to entertain with countless stories, his sense of humour and his gifted singing voice. Allan was a compassionate soul that cared deeply about the welfare of those in need and it hurt his heart to see others suffer, whether it was people or animals.
He was often called the "walking encyclopedia" because of his knowledge of trivia and facts. Other than the bible, the only other book he read was the World Almanac.
His most cherished times were our family days which were always full of laughter and spent watching movies, listening to his favourite songs, eating good food or having a few drinks with those closest to him. We love you Allan, and are so sorry and heartbroken that we were not able to get you back home, if even for a short time, to be surrounded by your loving family and beloved pets.
Allan is survived by his loving family: his wife, Pat, children, Greg (Tatiana), Errol (Chrissy) and Candace (Larry), his grandchildren, Christian, Alexandra, Ethan, Marissa, Rowen and Avery. Allan is also survived by his mother, Betty, brothers, John (Joanne), Malcolm (Donna) and Bruce (Heidi), sister, Carolyn, as well as many nieces and nephews. His extended family and truest friends are also mourning his passing.
Allan was predeceased by his father Alexander in 1970 and his sister Susan in 2014.
In accordance with Allan's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Allan's life will be held today, Saturday, April 6, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at the Rossmere Golf & Country Club, 925 Watt St., Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Allan's memory may be made to Winnipeg Kitten Adoption (wpgkittenadoption@gmail.com), Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue (manitobamutts.org) or to The Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada (braintumour.ca).
God is inside of you and all around
Not in a mansion of wood or stone
Split a piece of wood and you will find me
Lift a stone and I'll be there
