LOUIS MARC ST. MARS
June 3, 1934 - March 20, 2019

Peacefully at Oakview Care Home, on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, Louis passed away, with family by his side, at the age of 84.
He leaves to mourn, his loving wife of 64 years, Agnes (nee Desrosiers), children, Irene (Al) Burch, Rita (Darcy Leeming), Luc (Carol) and Patricia (Dale) Armour; six grandchildren, Raymond (Danika), Melanie (Shawn) Derkach, Melissa and Marc St. Mars, Amanda and Garrett Armour, and one great-grandson Griffin Derkach. Also left to mourn is his only sister Louise (Jubinville), as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Louis was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Marie-Anne (Champagne) St. Mars, his brothers, Leo and Edward, and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
Louis was born and raised in Ste. Genevieve, later moved to Lorette where he met the love of his life Agnes (nee Desrosiers). They were married in 1955. They later moved to Ste. Anne, St. James and finally St. Malo.
Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass celebrating Louis' life will be held in the Holy Family Church (Ste. Famille), 778 Archibald St., in St. Boniface on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. Prayers, eulogy and video tribute will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. with Father Armand Le Gal officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date at St. Genevieve Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a big thank-you to the management and staff of Oakview Care Home. Louis' stay was very short but the staff treated him and the family with the utmost care and compassion and we are eternally grateful.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Louis may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. Envelopes will be available at the entrance of the church.

  • In the past 30+ years that I had the opportunity to be a Son In Law of Lou's he was a very good father to me and I will miss him muchly. I only wished We could of spent more time together but living so far apart from him and the family was very hard for that to be . We will be together again in HEAVEN in the passing of my life .
