LAWRENCE FREDRICK (LAWRIE) ARMSTRONG
April 29, 1944 - March 3, 2019
A memorial service was held March 20, 2019 in Victoria, BC.
He was predeceased by his parents, Carmen and Olive Armstrong; brothers, Keith and Tom, and sister-in-law Patricia.
Lawrie is survived by his son Nelson Armstrong (Joeriza); daughter Ashley Armstrong (Chris); four grandchildren, Molly, Vanessa, Jasmine and Riza; sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Ed Chapiel; brother Terry; sister-in-law Mabel; lifelong friend Celia, and many nieces and nephews.
Lawrie worked for the West Kildonan Municipality before moving away from Winnipeg. He held several various jobs on his journey out to the west coast and retired from Saanich Sanitation in Victoria, BC.
Lawrie owned a cabin in Gimli, MB and enjoyed spending several months of the year there for over 20 years. He also enjoyed the gatherings of friends at the Green Briar Inn during the time he was in Gimli.
He will be dearly missed.
