EILEEN DELORES RIEGER
Eileen is survived by her daughter Nicolette, many friends who were her
extended family, along with her "surrogate children and grandchildren".
Eileen was born in Kimberley, South Africa and lived there until she came to Canada in 1972, where she lived in Melville, SK. In 1985, she moved to Winnipeg and became Dean of Residence for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and later for Balmoral Hall School where she
remained until 2000. It was not long after that she began working for Top Hat Florists.
Eileen was a long-time parishioner of St. Mary's Cathedral, and a member of the Catholic Women's League.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the staff at Golden Links Lodge, who lovingly cared for Eileen,
especially her "Mama Africa" nurses. Much appreciation also is extended to Jim and the rest of Eileen's Top Hat Florist family.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on
Tuesday, April 9 at 10:00 am, at St. Mary's
Cathedral, 353 St. Mary Ave., with Father Geoffrey Angeles presiding. A reception will follow in the Hall. Interment will take place at a later date.
Lord, for your faithful people
life is changed, not ended.
When the body of our earthly dwelling
lies in death
We gain an everlasting dwelling place
in heaven!

I am so sorry for your loss, Nicolette. Your Mom was such a lovely lady ... it was so much fun visiting with her in the car when we went to BH expat gatherings. I would always send her a virtual wave as I drove past your home on Wellington ... and she was so proud of you! Her spirit was strong and is still with us ... I'll miss her ... but will still send a wave. Take care of yourself, now. Big Hug from ... Ms B - Posted by: Elizabeth Bonnett (Friend and colleague) on: Apr 06, 2019

Eileen was a great lady! I knew her well when she was the housemother at Balmoral Hall School. She was a no nonsense lady who always had the best interest of the girls living in residence. You could always count on Eileen to be there for her girls. Nickolett your Mom was so proud of you. You were the apple of her eye. My thoughts are with you at this sad time.
