TODD MURRAY KERR
January 26, 1959 - March 7, 2019

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Todd Murray Kerr on Thursday, March 7, 2019.
Todd was born in Winnipeg and lived in St. James most of his life. He attended Linwood and Deer Lodge schools, graduating from St. James Collegiate in 1977. Todd excelled at sports, in particular hockey, playing goal for Deer Lodge and St. James AAA. Many great memories were made at the Assiniboine Golf Course, where he remained a member until the time of his passing. Summers at Sandy Hook and Grand Beach were always very special and many great times were enjoyed with family and friends. Todd had an entrepreneurial acumen, starting one of the first food cart companies in Winnipeg, "Taco Todd's" and more recently successfully developed "Seniors Best Friend" into a thriving business. He often spoke about the years he lived in Australia, where he both played and refereed hockey. Todd cherished family and kept so many sentimental items close by as a reminder of the past. Todd cared for both our mother and father when they were ill in Kelowna and stayed by their side right to the end. We cannot thank him enough for this. He was a caring son, brother, uncle, friend and we will miss him dearly.
Todd was predeceased by his parents, Sheila and Gordon; survived by his brothers, Gord and Richard (Sonora), nieces, Danni, Jenny, and nephew James (Danieal).
A sincere thank you to Todd's dear friend Willy, who provided great care over the past six months and many years of friendship. Rest In Peace Todd, the suffering is over.
A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Assiniboine Golf Club from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • I worked with Todd in 1981-1983 at CN rail also played hockey with him in summer during that time he was a fantastic goalie! I never saw or heard from him again till 2018 but never got to see him in time which I regret was always a good time when with Todd. - Posted by: Rob Demidiuk (Friend) on: May 22, 2021

  • Met Todd though his friend Willy when he came back to Kelowna to care for his Mom. Fascinating guy, very intelligent and passionate about everything he did. Saddened to hear he had passed, he had many plans in the works that would have been great to see him accomplish. - Posted by: Paul & Lisa Phillips (Friends) on: May 30, 2019

  • "Tell your friend that in his death, a part of you dies and goes with him. Wherever he goes, you also go. He will not be alone". Always in our memories, We'll think of you everyday Tacs - Posted by: Cal Taylor (Friend) on: Apr 18, 2019

  • I haven't spoken to Todd for several years but, was very saddened to hear this news. Todd, myself and many other guys, that will always be apart of my life, played hockey together as youngsters - without question, Todd would ensure that the dressing room was full of smiles, laughter and light heartedness. He was a one of kind gem and I will never forget his spirit. I still smile thinking about some of his shenanigans. God bless to Dick and family. - Posted by: J Sedgwick (Friend) on: Apr 17, 2019

  • I had a stroke on April 15, 2016 and returned home from Riverview on July 13, 2016. Todd and his staff of Leona, Tony and Jerry took over the yard work of our home until the last snowfall of this year. He will be sadly missed. Rest in Peace Todd until we meet again on the other side. Which will probably not be too far in the future as I turned 84 this past April 12, 2019. - Posted by: Peter J Gall (Client SEnior Best Friends) on: Apr 16, 2019

  • Many awesome memories at the cabin playing ladder ball, horseshoes, darts and just sitting by the fire in the evenings sharing great stories with you and Willy. Oh and of course the fireworks. We miss pulling up to our cabin and Todd firing off a Cherry Bomb followed by a loud friendly "Mikey" to welcome us to another weekend of festivities. You will be dearly missed by our family! Rest well and we will see you on the other side Taco. - Posted by: Mike & Chrissy (Friend) on: Apr 15, 2019
