BRIAN CECIL MAJURY
He will be loved and missed by his wife, Dianne of 41 years of marriage, and his precious daughter Michelle (Shane); sisters, Bev Majury, Shawn (Vivian), Vanessa (Roger) Boivin, Ashley (Dan), Shane, Jordan, Garrett; special aunt Lorraine, and close friends, Keith and Wendy Auld. Also left to mourn are his many cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Valerie; in-laws, Henry and Julie Gorzen; brother-in-law Jim Graham; and niece Angela Graham.
Brian was born on April 27, 1949, raised in St. James and attended Silver Heights Collegiate. He started his career at Cloverdale Paint (Northern Paint) as a sales representative in which he met and made lifelong friends. He retired in September 2015 after 41 years.
Brian and Dianne met in 1974 and were married at Sturgeon Creek United Church in June 1977. In 1991 Michelle was born and she was instantly "the apple of his eye". He supported her in all her adventures and especially her love of soccer. He never missed a game and then eventually took on the role of coach for her team. His proudest moment was to watch her graduate.
Brian and Dianne enjoyed travelling to many warm destinations with Hawaii being their favourite. He also looked forward to the annual traditional camping trips with his extended family members.
He loved sports, and his favourite teams were the Boston Bruins and Edmonton Eskimos (unlike most Winnipeg fans!). Brian liked fishing, curling and was an avid golfer and looked forward to playing in many golf tournaments each year.
In 2017 after going through many rounds of chemo treatments without complaining, we had a wonderful month-long adventure with our dear friends Keith and Wendy. We cruised to the Caribbean, visited Las Vegas, Palm Springs and then travelled to Phoenix, where we purchased a place to enjoy our future winters.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Brian's honour on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Deer Lodge Community Centre, 323 Bruce Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, and Brian's love of cats, a donation could be made to any animal shelter or charity of your choice.
Remember me in your heart:
Your thoughts and your memories
For if you always think of me,
I will never have gone.
