KEN HOWIKA
July 10, 1951 - March 21, 2019
Ken is fondly remembered by his son Lance (Leona); grandchildren, Nathan, Natasha, Kalvin, Lexie, Benjamin, and Hanna; sisters, Diana and Iona (Bill). He will also be remembered by his many nieces and nephews, who have their own special memories of their uncle.
He was predeceased by his mother Gabrielle and father Paul; daughter Brandy; sisters, Violet, Doreen, and Denise; and brother Bob.
Ken grew up in Fort Rouge and attended Lord Roberts and Churchill High Schools. He loved reminiscing about his early years in the "Rouge", such as going to club dances and enjoying the company of his many friends. This is where Ken met his first wife Debbie with whom he shared two children; Lance and Brandy, who died during infancy in 1975. Ken worked for Bristol Aerospace, Northern Affairs, Agriculture Canada and the Winnipeg Free Press.
Ken was a person solid in character who offered great advice, we will miss his constant support and guidance. We'll always remember his boisterous laugh, sharp wit and his keen sense of humour. Ken often preached about living life with as few encumbrances as possible. This allowed him to enjoy many hobbies such as his love for music, movies and his daily two to six mile walks.
Friends and relatives are encouraged to share in a photo-tribute, stories, and condolences for the family by visiting Ken's tribute page at IntegrityDeathCare.com.
Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held in memory of Ken at a later date.
Forever in our hearts he will be.
