ROSE GEVOGA
(MALING)
June 7, 1928 - April 21, 2019

Rose Gevoga, aged 90, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019, at River East Personal Care Home in Winnipeg. She was born on June 7, 1928 in Winnipeg to John and Vera Maling and married William Gevoga on June 18, 1948.
Rose nourished those around her with her strength, love and delicious cooking. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life of chatting, visiting and playing cards with friends and family, and caring for her grandchildren. Later in life, she also enjoyed spending time watching movies, playing bingo, and frequent phone calls with her sister Pauline. Despite being legally blind for many years she managed to live in her own home (and keep herself immaculate!) past her 90th birthday.
Left to honour Rose and remember her love are her brother Nick Maling (Helen), daughter Valerie Mulder (Stewart), son John Gevoga (Susi), grandson Douglas Mulder (Sarah), granddaughter Alexandra Gevoga, and great-grandson William Mulder.
Our family would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at the River East Personal Care Home for their attentiveness and loving care of Rose, as well as for their compassion and support for our family and friends visiting her prior to her passing.
Rose has been cremated to be buried at a later date. A small gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life has been planned for this Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the home of her grandson Douglas (Sarah and William).

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I will always remember Rose with great fondness. She helped us feel safe in our neighborhood as she kept a watchful eye into the wee hours, being the nightowl that she was. She was such a beautiful person, inside and out. We had many wonderful visits and she was great company with wonderful stories to tell. I was blessed by having known her. May God bless you all well with peace and comfort during your time of sadness. My thoughts and prayers are with you. ❤ - Posted by: Diana Rondeau (Neighbour) on: Apr 27, 2019
