RONALD LAWRENCE LECUYER
Ron is survived by his loving wife Donna; daughter Rhonda and her husband Robin Chestnut; son David and his wife Nancy Lecuyer; and daughter Wendy and her husband Garett Kolsun; as well, he will be greatly missed by his four grandchildren, Christian and Blake Kolsun, and Lauren and Liam Lecuyer.
Ron grew up in Winnipeg, and following his marriage to Donna in 1965, they raised their children in St. James.
Ron's working career for many years took him into medical and surgical sales, a job he loved and was very dedicated to. He was with Northland Healthcare for most of his career until he retired at age 70.
He was a long-time member of the Winnipeg Canoe Club where he enjoyed playing tennis, squash, racquetball and golf. In the 1970s he often played music for the Canoe Club social events, when disco was in vogue.
His favourite place was the lake, whether it was Falcon Lake or West Hawk, sitting on the deck with a good rum and coke. Many a Sunday after the family went back home, he enjoyed a good game of cards with Wendy. Falcon Lake Golf Course was his favourite, and he even got a trophy for a hole in one there. His children all learned to improve their game with his guidance on that course.
To Ron - his family was his whole world. When the kids moved away, he would show up with his handyman belt and tools and work tirelessly on so many projects over the years. He loved to help out whenever he could. He also loved all the family pets - from hamsters to a piglet, a guinea pig and a rabbit, a cat and dogs. Willow was especially loved, and we know she will miss him.
The family would like to extend our love and gratitude to his caregivers at Oakview, especially Barb and Tatiana who made sure Ron received the utmost in comfort care, and provided us with so much love and support.
At Ron's request his family will celebrate his life at a private service.
Donations in Ron's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice.

Donna, I’m so sorry to see that your husband has passed away. Over the years working together, I remember you mentioning him often, mainly in his tolerance of the menagerie of different rescued animals that passed through your home. Thinking of you and your family. - Posted by: Leslie Franklin (Co-worker of Donna) on: May 26, 2019

Thanks and Lucille and I liked Ron and he kindly agreed to come out of his DJ retirement and did our Wedding party music at Camp Manitou and played quite late May 14/1988. It was a memorable time and event made even better by Ron's music. He was a generous man and remembered fondly by us - especially his contribution to our wedding event. Sure he shall be missed by all and made a difference during his life. Gone but not forgotten. Rest in peace you special man. We are living in White Rock, BC now but our connections to Winnipeg and Manitoba remain through our connections with friends and family. - Posted by: Donald Finnbogason and Lucille Mclaughlin (Friends from Winnipeg Canoe Club) on: May 04, 2019

I am sad to see Ron has passed on and I send my condolences to his family. I knew Ron from many years in the medical surgical sales industry. Ron was always a very upbeat and friendly man, very positive and always a pleasure to meet or have a coffee with, and maybe have a chat about sports, family or just about anything. I happened to know David, who Ron was very proud of, from long ago when he was a student and working at Cy's Tomboy. I know Ron loved life, lived it well and he always made my day just a little bit brighter. The best memories are the fond ones. - Posted by: dennis oliver (Medical sales field) on: May 04, 2019
