ROBERT SCOTT BUCHANAN
Scott, or Scotty, as he was known to his friends and family was deeply kind and a gentle soul. Scott was born in 1950 in Winnipeg and grew up in Windsor Park. He attended Crane and Prendergast Elementary, Beliveau Junior High, and Windsor Park Collegiate. He started his career at K-Mart and then worked for the T. Eaton Company for 27 years. After Eaton's he worked for a candy company driving a truck and selling candy to small businesses in Manitoba and NW Ontario, and was lovingly given the name of "the candy man" by his many nieces and nephews. Scott loved the great outdoors, golfing, fishing, camping, boating, and through the years always had his dogs Rip, Blue, Millie and Coco at his side. He and his wife spent many years at their seasonal trailer site at Bare Point Marina and Resort south east of Kenora on Lake of the Woods.
Scott gathered many friends throughout his life and especially enjoyed reminiscing with his coffee buddies, who will miss him, Bob, Rene, Jim and Mike. "Scotty Breeze" as his friends called him was best known for his car driving antics at the Car Club in the mid 1960s, which got him and his dad's '59 Oldsmobile into some real trouble. Scott was a huge Winnipeg Jet's fan and was thrilled when they came back to Winnipeg.
He leaves his loving wife Loreen, brother Dan, sister-in-law Connie, nephew Ben, sister Lynn Buchanan (Rankin), nephews, Scott (Toni) and Matthew, sister Susan Buchanan, niece Jess/Jeff, children, Bea and Lulu, nephews, Tom and Josh, and niece Margie/Matt, children, Joey, Jayden and Mykyla. He also leaves his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law on Loreen's side of the family, Bev and Bob Finlayson, Linda and Gordon James, Elaine McCutchin and Kathy and Stan Forster, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Scott was predeceased by his brother Alan, his sister Jane, and his parents, William and Florence Buchanan.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, and to the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital Emergency for their excellent care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service and family gathering will be held at a later date.
Donations in Scott's memory can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
"Rest in Peace my Love."

My condolences to you Loren, have not seen Scott since I left Eaton’s Polo Park where we worked together in the appliance department. I enjoyed my time there with Scott and always considered it a fun time in my life. - Posted by: Dave Johnston (Friend) on: May 04, 2019
