RON WILLIAMS
He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley, his children, Lynn and John (Donna), his grandchildren, Sophie, Claudia, Jane, Dayna and Rhys, his sister Marlene, brother-in-law Doug (Judy) and sister-in-law Donna (Joseph) and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Norman, his mother Alma and his brother-in-law Lorne.
Ron's life was Winnipeg based but his work spread across many countries. He was a Chartered Accountant who graduated from United College and the University of Manitoba. After partnership at Peat Marwick Mitchell, he mixed his love for nature and business at Sabourin Lake Lodge in Woodland Caribou Park for many years. As he left an active role at the lodge, he continued as part of Volvo trucks in Vancouver and was up to date on sales volumes until the day he was admitted to hospital the last time.
He loved his wife, family, dogs and any boat, plane or vehicle that moved. He loved the water in general and Victoria Beach in particular. He was rarely seen without a book, newspaper or financial statements in his hand. Ron was a friend and advisor to many. He enjoyed travelling with his wife while he was still well enough and continued reading right to the end.
The funeral service celebrating his life will be held today, Saturday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3N 0H9. An interment will take place this summer in Goodlands, Manitoba.
Condolences can be sent to Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, www.thomsoninthepark.com
Special thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Victoria Hospital Urgent care and 5 North for taking such good care of Ron his last five days despite his insistence that he was perfectly fine and just wanted to go back home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Brain Canada Foundation or the charity of your choice.
May he rest in peace.

My condolences to John and his family. I enjoyed my years working with both Ron and John. I found Ron a very resourceful man and a very intelligent person especially when it came to business. I especially enjoyed a trip to their fishing camp when I first met Ron. Again my condolences to the family on his passing. Dan Tooth, Saskatoon - Posted by: Dan Tooth (Friend) on: May 21, 2019
