When I lived in Winnipeg in the early 80's Grant was a great friend. He was a man with integrity and a great deal of respect for people and their property. I had a lot of respect for Grant. My condolences to Thelma and her son. - Posted by: Glenn McPherson (Freind) on: Jun 02, 2020

Grant was a unique individual and full of integrity. Ken and I had many good memories with him, especially riding, and helping out with various Harley events. We also met occasionally for breakfasts in years past. We truly enjoyed him, and I was so glad to have spent some time with him before he passed on to heaven. Albeit only briefly. Ride on up there in heaven Grant! We know that you are with Jesus now. We will miss you! - Posted by: Cynthia and Ken Slapinski (Friends) on: May 24, 2019

I met Grant 18 years ago at Garwood Grill, I now truly know what it feels like to have a broken heart. I will miss him dearly. There is definitely a bright new star in the sky. R.I.P Grant. I love you always. I will find you in my next life for our ride to Sturgess 💔. Gisele😢 - Posted by: Gisele Fillion (Friend) on: May 14, 2019

I was just learning to ride my first Harley - A time in my life when things were changing and days were not always easy- Grant would often be there to support and mentor... often teased me into not losing hope in the ability to ride, and just generally a wonderful friend. He shared his love of riding so generously - his love of family and friends remained strong. Condolences to Taylor and Thelma. You will be so missed my dear friend - ride free. - Posted by: Patty Medd (Friend) on: May 14, 2019

I walked Main Street with Grant when he came out of class and landed on "C" relief. We had some great times walking that beat. There never was a better friend or partner than Grant was. He was friends with people he met. Grant served with the Steinbach Police and used to speak of spending time shooting rats at the Town dump with a .44 magnum. A great guy always willing to help. Rest in Peace Grant and we'll meet again. - Posted by: Gary Dovzuk (Partner and friend) on: May 12, 2019

I was stunned to hear that Grant, my good friend, had passed. He was just such a 'Larger than Life' guy! I met Grant were many do....at Starbucks. He was welcoming, caring, and made sure everyone else was welcome in the group. He didn't suffer fools either, a good quality all around. There was many times Grant could be heard in a conversation offering to help repair someone's bike, give advice on their rebuild, hive his thoughts on politics, or heard laughing his sweet laugh about someone's Foley. He did not hold back to let me know when I pulled a goodball move with a big grin, and I loved him for that gentle judgment. Grant love his bike, sharing coffee and bantering a conversation at Starbucks, and a good meal at some local restaurants like Boun's, Redtop, or Garwood Grill. Grant kept life uncomplicated. I learned lots from my good friend and was so grateful to have met him. I will miss him very much. - Posted by: Rosita Lopez (Friend ) on: May 11, 2019

I met Grant when we became cruiser car partners in Dist 4 Winnipeg Police. We ran into each other off and on through the years and after retirement and he was always excited about his next motorcycle trip. He was a kind & generous man with a great sense of humour and will be missed. Rest in Peace My Friend - Posted by: Scarlett Somers Bellingham (Friend/Colleague) on: May 11, 2019

I had the true pleasure & honour of working with GRANT during one of my first assignments as a Police Officer in District 4. He was a Policeman's Policeman & an incredible mentor to me in my early days on the job. He had the ability to effectively interact with anyone, including the truly bad ones, in a way that made everything work out. He had a character and demeanour that everyone could readily be attracted to & benefit from. He will be missed by members of his forever Police family. Rest in peace, GRANT & ride high. - Posted by: Garry Leach (Former Police partner) on: May 11, 2019

Sincere condolences to Grant's family. I didn't know Grant well, just enough to say hello and how are you in passing. He was always so pleasant and had a smile for my and parents and me every time we ran into him in our underground parking. Grant, I never did get that ride on your motorcycle. Maybe in our next lives!!! Rest in peace Grant. Paulette Morrison and parents Terry and Emile Lepage ( neighbors from D.T. Apartments) - Posted by: Paulette R Morrison (neighbor) on: May 11, 2019

Grant was a dear friend and a great friend to all. He was always willing to help. Grant worked hard to have a long retirement, but unfortunately he has been called away far too early. Grant, you will always be remembered and most importantly....loved. Rest in peace.... - Posted by: Deborah Bensky (Friend) on: May 11, 2019
