Dad will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Joanne; children, Kathryn (Gene), Thomas (Carol) and Steven (Roxanne); grandchildren, Nancy (Andy), Jody (Tim) and Denise (Andrew); great-grandchildren, Colten, Catherine, Crystal, Haley, Carson, Kalder, Lincoln, Gina, Hannah and Sadie; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Rawluk and Marion (Lloyd) Bonwick and a great many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Dad was predeceased by his parents, Tanas and Catherine (Prychitko) Rawluk; in-laws, Michael and Dorine Sitoski; all of his siblings, Michael (infant), Bill (Carrie), John T (Violet), Mary (Michael), Peter (Mary), Paul (Joyce), Alex, Olga (Michael), Tony (Edna), Annie (Bill) and brother-in-law Ronald Sitoski.
Dad was born on the family homestead April 12, 1933, the youngest of 11 children. Dad started working on the farm at an early age while also attending Van Dusen School. In 1956, he married his one true love, Joanne Sitoski and together with their children, grew the original farmstead into the present-day cattle company. He also hauled North Star oil on the Grand Rapids Highway, drove the Van Dusen school bus and served on the Moosehorn Co-op Board of Directors for 15 years. Dad loved the farm and his life on it. He never retired; and he still was cutting hay at the age of 85. He loved his family dearly and was always eager to spend time visiting and sharing with them. Relatives and friends alike were always welcomed and shown great hospitality.
Funeral service will be Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the St. Martin Hall, St. Martin, MB. Viewing at 1:00 p.m. Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the St. Martin Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and home care workers that provided Dad with such excellent care and compassion over the last two years.
