LAWRENCE GLENN BOHONOS
November 12, 1944 - June 13, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce the passing of Lawrence Glenn Bohonos, who fought a short, but strong battle with cancer.
He will always be in loving memory by his wife Eleanor, his three sons, Todd (Tammy), Glenn (Jody) and Lonny (Lisa); also his five grandchildren, Keith, Brenna, Brody, Callie and Baylee; as well as two other special people, Tish and Braxton.
Larry was predeceased by his mother Ann, father Walter, sister Luba, and brother-in-law Ed.
Larry spent most of his life in the automotive industry - from owning his own parts store and a garage in St. Norbert to spending over 50 years with Piston Ring Service. He retired at the age of 68. Larry's first and foremost passion was his family where he coached and watched his three sons play hockey. His love for the cottage life took him out to Pinawa Bay where he fished, gardened and simply enjoyed the view. Larry was a man of many talents, he knew something about everything and was rarely wrong when you asked him for advice. If you didn't ask, he would give it anyways. His quirky, sarcastic ways always put a smile on someone's face. There was never a dull moment when this legend was around.
May you soar high in the sky and watch over everyone you so delicately loved.
As per Lawrence's wishes, a private family service will be held.

  • So sorry to hear this news Ellie and boys. Larry was truly one of a kind, he and Ellie always treated me as family (at least I felt that way). I also considered Larry more than just my friends Dad, he was my friend too, not just my Buddy's Dad. A memory that I will always have and giggle about from time to time was many years ago, I think it was the second time I met Larry. Todd had teamed me up with him to drive out to the lake together pulling my boat behind the big blue car. On the way we had to stop at Anola for some rum, I was bartending and Larry was driving. When we arrived at the lake the two of us practically poured out of the car, Ellie was not impressed with us ! I believe this is a great example of how Larry was everybody's friend. Rest in peace Buddy, there are no fishing or hunting limits where you are going. I'll see you there one day and enjoy some rum together again. - Posted by: Tim Shyiak (Friend) on: Jun 18, 2019

  • I was a board member with the Winnipeg South Blues when Lonny was playing and Mr. Bohonos was always there supporting and "encouraging" the players! I remember him being a nice man to deal with and have fond memories of him. To the Bohonos family, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve your loss. - Posted by: Ginny Thiessen (Former Wpg South Blues Board member) on: Jun 18, 2019
