CATHERINE (IRENE) DAVIS
1946 – 2019

On July 31, 2019, our dear wife, mother and grandmother, Catherine, peacefully passed away at the Grace General Hospital in Winnipeg. She was a very proud Scottish lady being born in Edinburgh.
She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband, Derek; her two sons, David (Barb) and Scott (Anna); stepsons Mark (Cathy), Paul and Grant; sister Roberta (Dennis); and brother John (Lynda) of Scotland; grandchildren, Mara and Holly,
step-grandchildren Jessica (Zach) and Jordan; as well numerous nieces and nephews.
In 1969 Catherine immigrated to Canada with her first husband Derek Simpson and their two sons. She worked for Eatons Downtown in Ladies Fashions where she would become manager of it's number one shop. After her divorce, she later married Derek Davis who had three sons.
Throughout their marriage of nearly thirty years, Catherine and Derek would live in different parts of Winnipeg before finally settling into a peaceful life in Stonewall, MB. After moving back to Winnipeg it was discovered she had a serious case of COPD and emphysema. She was hospitalized with this a few times but, unfortunately, she couldn't beat it this last time no matter how hard she tried.
At her request, cremation has taken place and no formal funeral service will be held.
The family offers their sincere gratitude to Dr. Borrett and the staff at the Grace Hospital for the kindly care and attention they gave Catherine during her stay.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Catherine Davis, on July 31, 2019, at the age of 73 years, at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal service will be held.
