RODNEY GLEN FOREMAN

Rodney (Glen) Foreman passed away after a short and unexpected illness at the Health Sciences Centre, on Friday, August 2, 2019 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Erin; son David (Laura); daughter Stephanie (Karl); grandson Russell; his sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, and close friends.
He was preceded by his brother Gregory Foreman; and parents, Al and Anne Foreman of Winnipeg.
Rodney grew up in St. James and worked for Canada Safeway for over 30 years. During his life, he dedicated much of time to coaching youth soccer. He would get a round of golf in whenever he could and loved travelling to Mexico. He will be remembered as a social butterfly, always proud to show off pictures of his grandson.
A private Celebration of Life will be held for his immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, we urge those who are able to make a donation to Canadian Cancer Society.

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • To the Foreman family. I only knew those that are now gone, I am very sorry for your loss. So sad to take today my birthday and look up people I knew only to find them all dead. I first met Pam - she was looking for a girl named Pam to be her sister-in-law. Such as sweetheart even as a young girl. They all went to Britannia School in St James which has since been torn down. When they lived on Roseberry Street. Then I met Rodney - I was ten and he was so good looking an actual dreamboat he was not interested in me and made sure I knew it. Then I met Greg an absolute double dream boat what was I thinking about Rod when Greg existed and to think I was ten and having such thoughts - With Greg I took my time and it wasn't until he announced he was leaving our school that I stood up and screamed no not this After all my dream boat was to leave. So then I took up learning how to ride a bicycle at age 15 and ran into him but he was with Pam a girlfriend same name as his sister, and at 16 I met him at a hockey game at Vimy Arena what a great arena oops as it turned out my school was playing his or at least my area of kids I walked him home and he turfed me out the door for Pam then he went to work for A & W and later a mat cleaning company . I'm glad you all had great times with him It is nice to know that they all became so successful. And that Pam remained so happy and strong. don't know the rest of you but I hope even after all this time you find some strength and comfort, from my condolences. May their journey to the afterlife be kind. - Posted by: Donna Comte nee Smith (Classmate) on: Apr 02, 2023

  • Wow, I was just planning our annual trip back to Winnipeg and was looking up old pals from the past when I came across Rod's memorial. We shared some great first experiences in junior high. Rodney was very likely the best athlete in Winnipeg at the time. Volleyball player, track and field. My heart goes out to you Erin and family. - Posted by: Dave Shortill (friend Junior high ) on: Sep 02, 2019
