(nee BEAUDOIN)
December 28, 1932 - September 5, 2019
Mom was born in Storthoaks, SK, went to convent school in Gravelbourg and then completed her Nurse's training at Misericordia Hospital. She moved to Vancouver to work and then returned to Manitoba where she met Dad. After a brief courtship, Mom and Dad were married on March 3, 1962. Mom was a resilient and strong woman, and along with Dad (RCMP) moved our family from Falcon Lake to Arborg, Thompson, The Pas, Selkirk, Winnipeg, East Selkirk, back to Selkirk and then Mom and Dad moved to Winnipeg. Mom enjoyed sports, playing basketball in high school, curling and bowling in a variety of the locations we lived, golfing and doing Tai Chi, and she enjoyed dancing, especially line dancing. After retirement as an operating room nurse at the Selkirk General Hospital, Mom and Dad had 30 happy years travelling in their fifth wheel, meeting so many new friends along the way through a number of fun activities and happy hours.
Mom was predeceased by our dad, Elmer, her parents, parents-in-law, brothers-in-law, Bill Cutts and Al Levesque, and nephew Rob. She leaves to remember her with love her daughters, Dawne (Gerry) Dyck, Monica (Kent) Cook and son Joel (Tracey) Cutts, her grandchildren, Tara (Tim), Rae-Lyn (Kellen), Connor (Ally) and Mitchell (Lindsay), her great-grandchildren, Analeigh, Sidonie, Charlotte and Ethne Klassen, and Jaxon and Colbie Burman. Mom will also be remembered by Ryan, Lauren and Jenna. Mom also leaves her sisters, Suzanne (Alvin) Wiebe, Jeanette (Bob) Newman and Rose Levesque, Dad's brothers and sister and families, and nieces, nephews and friends.
Mom's kindness, love of life and music / dancing, sense of humour and curiosity will be missed. Mom lived her life with grace, set a positive and wonderful example for all of us, and has left us with so many happy memories. She will be deeply missed. Rest well Mom. We love you.
We thank the staff at Vista Park Lodge and Comforts of Home Care for their care and friendship to Mom.
Mom's life will be celebrated with a Funeral Mass which will take place on Thursday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood (Winnipeg). There will also be a memorial this fall for Mom and Dad at their final resting place, the RCMP Depot in Regina.
In lieu of flowers, please spend time with the ones you love, and feel free to make a donation in memory of Mom and Dad to a bursary in law enforcement and/or nursing at University College of the North, c/o Stacey Lajambe, Box 3000, The Pas, MB R9A 1M7.

Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! I am so excited that we are going to Dawne and Gerry’s this afternoon to celebrate a late Easter dinner and also Mother’s Day. It worked out that all of us can be there this afternoon except Rae-Lyn of course since they live in Alberta. Although we have seen everyone separately over the past couple of years since the pandemic hit, the last time we were all together as a group was at your funeral. So it’s very fitting that we get to celebrate together today, remembering you and celebrating all the other moms in the family. Connor and Mitchell are doing well, both working in good jobs. Connor and Ally are actually looking at houses now, and Mitchell and Lindsay may move away from Winnipeg for a while depending how things go in her job search as well. We would miss them if they leave, but I think it’s great that young people go and explore different places and figure life out on their own. Of course they’ve been doing that for a number of years in Winnipeg and during school, but this is like the next stage when both are finished school and working full-time. There should be about 20 of us gathered at Dawne and Gerry’s today, and it will be fun to see Tara and Tim and the girls. . It’s been seven months since they were at Clearwater Lake with us, and that’s the last time we saw them, so it will be interesting to see what they’ve all been up to. You are still in my thoughts and heart every single day, and I’ll miss you forever until we see each other again. I wanted to send you this message To remind you that we will never forget you, and to send you Mother’s Day greetings for a blessed day. Love and hugs (to Dad too), Monica 💛 - Posted by: Monica Cook (Daughter ) on: May 08, 2022

Happy birthday Mom! I’m sure you and Dad had a fabulous Christmas too! Time just always flies by so quickly, but here I finally am again. We miss you and think about you all the time. It’s been a fun year despite the ongoing pandemic, and now with the new restrictions in place again people are really getting fed up. We are glad to know that you and Dad are safe from all of this. It’s been great to have Connor and Mitchell home for Christmas, along with their girlfriends Ally and Lindsay. Since both of their girlfriends’ Families live here too, it’s nice that we can all see them through the holidays. They are here at least through the new year, so we will have more time to visit. Unfortunately Mitchell hurt his knee just before the holidays playing basketball, and now is down with some sort of cold, but hopefully he’s feeling better tomorrow. He started a new job in November, so that was exciting. Connor is still working with Tipi Insurance as the Finance Director, so they are both doing well. We are proud of them, and are sure that you would be too. We were happy to see Aunt Sue and Uncle Al in October, just after Dawne and I went on a tour of Manitoba to visit all of the houses we ever lived in. It was fun to spend the time together, and go down memory lane, at least what we could remember. Ha ha. I really admire you and Dad, thinking about all of the moves you made while working and raising three children. We had it pretty easy staying in one place to raise our boys. The Pas and Clearwater Lake are home for sure after 26 years! Thank you for teaching us so much about adapting in this world, and making new friends wherever we went. It sure makes life a lot easier as it goes on. When the boys were growing up I remember telling them to always be nice to the new kids at their school, because sometimes it’s hard to adjust, especially when groups of friends have been together for a long time. I think they listened to that advice and also find it relatively easy to meet new people now that they’re on their own. It’s so important in life, especially now that so much is via technology and not in person. It’s just as important to meet people, even though it’s in a different way. You both tell us a lot in our lives, and we sure appreciate it. Love and God Bless, Monica - Posted by: Monica Cutts Cook (Daughter ) on: Dec 28, 2021

Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!! It’s been too long since I’ve written, I see that my Christmas and birthday message did not go through! I think about you every day, and hold the memory of our last Mother’s Day together close to my heart. I see your angel number so often! The world is a very strange place right now with the pandemic of COVID-19, and I wonder what you and Dad would think about the way things are. I don’t think any of us could have predicted all of the restrictions and the things that are happening in the world right now. We were very lucky to see the boys (and girls) last week, and had a visit with Dawne and Joel and Tracey as well, so that was very nice. As of today, there are more restrictions about gathering and visiting with others, so it was great that it worked out last week. It sounds like the May long weekend will be lonely for a lot of people again, as even outside gatherings are very limited. Weddings are being canceled or postponed again, and it’s so sad that people can’t even have a normal funeral when they lose their loved ones. I am enjoying “restarting”, and working again directly with Indigenous communities and other employers for their human resources and related policy needs. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity, especially during these strange times. So many others are not able to even work during this time, if they aren’t in a rule that they can work from home, and so many others are lonely and not safe during this long pandemic. We know that you and Dad are safe and happy, and we are thankful for that. We hope you have a beautiful day - we miss our beautiful Mom. 💛 Love and God Bless, Monica - Posted by: Monica Cook (Daughter) on: May 09, 2021

Hi Mom. It’s been a while since I’ve written. I miss you all the time, but especially today, one year since it was your time to leave us. I think about you often, and especially at times like this when we have a gathering of family. We are at the lake and quite a few of Kent's family are here, which is nice, but there are many times when it would be so wonderful to see you again. I know that day will come at some point, but in the meantime I know you are with us – there are so many signs. I love you, Monica 💛 - Posted by: Monica (Daughter ) on: Sep 05, 2020

Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. Missing you today as always, but remembering our last Mother’s Day celebration with you a year ago at Vista Park Lodge. So happy we had that time and all the other times with you before you had to go. It is still very interesting here with the Covid virus still having an impact around the whole world. We are feeling sad for all of the people in personal care homes who cannot have visitors right now, and hope that they are soon able to see their families again. I was lucky to see Mitchell and Lindsay today, they came with homemade cinnamon buns and a card and beautiful flowers and pussy willows from the lake. Connor and Ally sent messages too, and hopefully we will be able to see them in a few weeks as well.. Hugs to you and Dad. Thank you for being the best Mom ever - We learned so much from you. Love you, Monica - Posted by: Monica (Daughter ) on: May 10, 2020

Hi Mom. Happy Easter! It must be a glorious celebration there! We had Easter dinner last night, just Kent, Mitchell, Lindsay and me. The world has changed so dramatically over the past few weeks with the COVID-19 virus! Kent and I are fortunate to still have our work to keep things somewhat normal, but there are very few people attending at work these days, as we must all “socially distance” in order to try to help flatten the curve of this novel virus. Mitchell and Lindsay have been home for 3 weeks, as universities and colleges are closed right now and courses are being delivered through technology and other methods rather than in classrooms - probably at least until September! Lindsay is finishing her courses on line, and Mitchell was working at CRA for his student practicum, so they actually told him that he will continue to be paid, but that he is not to be at work due to the virus. Lucky they are able to be at Clearwater Lake and there’s lots to do without having to go to town. Kent is still going to the grocery store as needed, and we just bring groceries out, and for the most part they are having supper at Hnidy’s - we should probably pay for some of their groceries! Ha ha. Connor is still working at Tipi Insurance and Ally started a term teaching job last Monday, so very lucky that we all have jobs or school. Connor was home for a few days recently and worked at the Tipi office here, but just in the boardroom so he was not close to the other staff. He got some good fishing in, so that was great - a nice break during these interesting times! We saw Cliff and Bernice at the lake and went for a long sled ride, so that was awesome, because it’s easy to “social distance” when we’re on sleds and with helmets on, but can still visit outside where there’s lots of space to be apart. Thinking about you and missing you. 💛 Love and God bless, Monica - Posted by: Monica (Daughter) on: Apr 12, 2020

Hi mom. I think about you every day, but more so this week with my birthday last Sunday and your wedding anniversary on March 3, so I was thinking about both you and dad a lot. We had a great trip to Mexico, and now in Vancouver for a few days We are lucky to be able to Enjoy these trips now and again! I am so glad that you and dad have the opportunity to travel for about 30 years after retirement. I’m not quite retired yet, but thinking about it within the next year or so. Dawne retired last July as you well know, and she is really enjoying it. They just came back from Mexico as well, they went with Joel and Tracy and a number of other friends. It’s too bad we didn’t know when we were planning our trips, or we may have all been able to travel together. That would have been fun. Maybe next year. Dawne and Joel and I hope to get to Churchill next summer/fall, we will honour your memory by taking that trip! Love you and miss you always, Monica - Posted by: Monica (Daughter ) on: Mar 06, 2020

Hi again Mom. Happy birthday! I’ve been thinking about you all day. We made a cake in your honor, so we will enjoy that later with the boys, and with Dawne and Gerry when they get here tomorrow. I had a nice quiet day today, with lots of good memories of you. Kent went fishing with Gary and Kyle Kozun, and Connor went fishing to a different location with his buddies. Mitchell and Lindsay were hanging out at the lake today, and then headed to town to another friends for the evening. It’s great to have them all around for the holidays. Hugs to you on your birthday. Miss you and love you. Love Monica, Kent, Connor and Mitchell - Posted by: Monica Cook (Daughter) on: Dec 28, 2019

Merry Christmas Mom! Wish we could see you today, but we know you’re celebrating this beautiful day with Dad. We had our traditional Christmas supper early, on December 21, because Connor and Mitchell are home, and they were with their girlfriends families tonight, which worked out just fine. The Cook family was here last weekend, so it was nice to have most of them here for Christmas dinner on that day. Cassidy and Michayla are Expecting their first baby mid January, they aren’t travelling right now, but everyone else was here. It’s always hard to believe that another year is coming to a close, but January will be exciting for Mitchell as he starts his work co-op at CRA. Imagine, Dawne worked there for more than 35 years and just retired, and now Mitchell is just starting out with a job in IT for CRA. It will be interesting if it turns into a full-time job after he graduates. Connor still hopes to get on with Great West Life, but is applying for financial jobs at various companies Dale. Sure hope he is able to find a job that he wants in the finance field, but if that doesn’t happen soon he will go back to insurance and take more courses to keep current in the Finance field and keep trying. We are sure proud of both of them for how hard they have worked for their high marks, and happy with their work ethic. We learned a lot from how you and Dad raised us, and hope we’ve done a good job with the boys. It’s interesting to get to know them as adults! We are always so happy when they can make it home, and we are also happy to see their girlfriends too! We hope that 2020 will be an awesome year for them. We miss you all the time, but happy to know you are at rest - you worked so hard while you were here. Love you, Monica - Posted by: Monica Cook (Daughter) on: Dec 25, 2019

Hi Mom. It’s hard to believe that it’s already been more than two months since you left. I know that you are safe with Dad and with Jesus, but I still miss you both every day. You fought so long and hard to stay here. There were a number of challenges you had faced in the past year or two, and the last couple of weeks of your life were even more difficult, but you still showed so much grace. You continued to teach us until your last day here, and we’re still learning. Thank you for everything in this life, and enjoy your next journey. We hope that you and Dad appreciated the service at the Regina RCMP Depot in November. We were happy to do that for you and hope it was what you both wanted. It was hard to leave you there, but we do know that both of you wanted that to be your final resting place, and we know we carry you with us in our hearts wherever we go. Rest well, Mom. You deserve it. I love you. - Posted by: Monica Cook (Daughter) on: Nov 28, 2019
