DUNCAN JOSEPH KIPPEN THOMAS
November 25, 1941- September 13, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Duncan Thomas Sr. After a brave fight with cancer, with his family by his side, he got called home to be with the creator.
He was predeceased by his two children, Holly (Brooklyn) Hansen (2018) and Duncan Thomas Jr. (2003). He is survived by the love of his life for 55 years, Jean (Tootsie) Fontaine; his sons, Samuel, Marcel (Lorraine) and Orval; his beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Bryce, Jazmen, Sly, Shaun, Sasha, Shane, Jordan, Michael, Tyler, Grace, Bret, Lexa, Kyra, Tessa, Angie and Mimi. Mooshum to Miley; great-grandpa to 20.
He was a commercial fisherman working alongside his loving wife, as well as his sons, Mickey and Sam. He had many lifelong friendships over the years, meeting his buddy Jimmy daily for coffee. They had great conversations/storytelling and laughs. He felt at home being surrounded by family, friends and country living. We will always remember his great sense of humour. He had a special bond with his sister Rose, brother Peter and his bingo partner/niece Tanya Fontaine.
Wake service began Monday evening, September 16 and will continue till the service begins on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Alexander Roman Catholic Church in Sagkeeng First Nation, with Father Augustine Ezediniru officiating. Cremation will follow, with a private family interment in the future.
