AGATHA SCHMIDT
July 31, 1924 - September 24, 2019
Agatha was born on July 31, 1924 in Altbergthal, Manitoba to her parents, Peter and Helena Giesbrecht. She was the third of five sisters. Her father passed away in 1927, only 12 days after the birth of her youngest sister, making her early life a challenge that contributed greatly to her inner strength. She often spoke of her youth, not as a challenge, but as a time with fond memories of living near a creek with endless entertainment
possibilities for young sisters.
Agatha married John Schmidt on August 23, 1953. The Lord blessed their union with two sons; Bruce James (Beverly Noble) and Brian John (Laura). John predeceased Agatha on August 6, 1988, so did not share in the joy of watching their two grandchildren grow. Agatha cherished her grandchildren, Hannah and Adam and looked forward to spending as much time as she could with them both whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Agatha will be deeply missed and fondly
remembered by her sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sisters, Susanna Dueck and Helena Neufeld and extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank our many family members and friends for the love and support given to mom over the years. We'd also like to thank the wonderful staff at
Sturgeon Creek I for the respect and kindness they showed in the years mom lived there.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Crestview
Fellowship Church (271 Hamilton Ave.,
Winnipeg, MB), with interment at Neubergthal Cemetery. Viewing will be at the church prior to the service.
