FREDA ELLIS
Freda Ellis (nee Kruk) peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 72.
She is survived by daughters, Trish Wachniak (Trent), Logan, Ryleigh and Jace, Liz Englisbee (Sean), Alyssa, Dorian and Rayann, Mary Admiraal (Jay), Cory, Xander and Arya; sisters, Vivian and Phyllis, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Freda was predeceased by her husband Richard Ellis, her parents, Fred and Ella Kruk, and her granddaughter Kathryn Ellis.
Freda loved her family. She was unbelievably kind and generous. She enjoyed crocheting and was the queen of perogies, you never left her house hungry. She loved spending time with her grandkids, either watching sports or concerts or simply having sleepovers.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue, Winnipeg with Rev. Fr. Isidore Dziadyk, OSBM presider.
A special thank you to all the staff at Health Sciences Centre WR5 for your phenomenal care and compassion.

I had the great fortune to work with Freda many years ago as an Educational Assistant at Royal School. Freda’s kind and gentle nature was always evident as she embraced her job to enhance the learning of the students she worked with. Freda was a roll model for other EA’s. I recall how the staff looked forward to, and thoroughly enjoyed, all of Freda’s culinary treats over the years. I still have her 33 page “Freda’s Favorite Fatteners” cook book and often make recipes from it. I made her Killer Brownies only a week ago. She will be dearly missed by so many. My heartfelt condolences to Trish, Liz, Mary and family and friends. Pat (Peterson) Graefer - Posted by: Pat (Peterson) Graefer (Co-worker) on: Nov 06, 2019

We have known Freda for 40+ years. We have watched her three girls grow into beautiful young women and her grandchildren - which brought a smile to her face - a smile we will never forget! Trish, Liz and Mary - cherish the memories - they are yours to keep and no one can take them from you...Our thoughts are with all of you... - Posted by: Terrie and Richard Hnituk (Friend and Neighbour) on: Nov 06, 2019

I first knew Freda when she was hired to assist me in my classroom at Royal School. We, and I mean we, had 38 students. She fit right in and was a wonderful teammate. I shall always remember her terrific smile and positive outlook. No challenge was ever too much. She made everyday a happy one just to be with her. - Posted by: Margaret Rowley (Co-worker) on: Nov 05, 2019

I had the pleasure of working with Freda at Royal School. She was truly one of the most genuine people I have had the privilege of working with. She was also one of the hardest working people I know. Kind, caring and devoted to the family she loved so dearly. May you Rest In Peace beautiful lady❤️❤️ My deepest sympathy to her family and friends. - Posted by: Patti Shaw (Friend) on: Nov 03, 2019

Freda you were such an amazing person - kind, generous and caring. We had such great times sharing lunches at your house where of course there were always perogies. My life is richer knowing you. You were loved my friend. You are no longer in pain and suffering, Heaven I know welcomed you home with open arms and said well done. Miss you always. - Posted by: Sharon (Friend) on: Nov 03, 2019

Auntie Freda and Uncle Richard were my father, Peter's, oldest and dearest friends. Auntie Freda was always the kindest and most supportive lady. I know that she will be missed dearly. Our hearts and prayers are with her family difficult at this time. Sincerely, Karen (Hurd) Vaarmeyer and Family - Posted by: Karen Vaarmeyer (Family friend ) on: Nov 03, 2019

The world has lost one of the best. She was my neighbour for many years but most of all a good friend. I will miss calling her and catching up with news about the kids and grandchildren. My thoughts are with all of you. - Posted by: VIcki martin (Friend) on: Nov 02, 2019

We met Mrs. Ellis when she was an educational assistant at Royal School. Last night my daughter was cleaning through our cupboards and wondered why I had so many boxes of jello. I told her that I always meant to make the striped jello squares that Mrs. Ellis ALWAYS contributed to the refreshment platter at school functions. This was a “reminisce” moment as my kids are grown now, and I still haven’t gotten around to making those squares, but we thought about Mrs. Ellis and what a lovely person she was. I was saddened to learn of her passing this morning. I extend our sincere condolences to her family. - Posted by: Curtain family (Acquaintance ) on: Nov 02, 2019
